I was never after extravagant mice but usually went with Razer Deathadders, but they just kept breaking, left clicking issues, scroll wheels breaking, 3 times before i decided to stop using them.
At the time i was broke though, and found the Sharkoon Fireglider for 15 euros. Never purchasing a razer product again, it's basically a dirt cheap Deathadder that performs better in every possible way.
Theres probably tons better out there, but if you're cheap like me, this thing kicks butt.
my requirements are pretty low i think. re configurable buttons, 2 extra keys on the side minimum, and around 3500ish DPI give or take because It's simply what I've gotten used to over the years.
I have to go with the razer naga. 12 keys on the side if my mouse allows me to easily use 7 8 9 and 10 with the mouse. And key bind the rest to anything else I need
I use a Deathadder Chroma. Really love the ease of use and the software that helps you calibrate surfaces, and draft gaming macros. Very quick and responsive and highly comfortable to me.
I am using an Anker 8200 DPI High Precision gaming mouse. 3 extra buttons on the side, 3 on top. Lots of customization options, and stored profiles for different builds, two builds are saved to be interchangeable by a button press under mouse. You can even make the mouse itself lighter or heavier. Perfect for my needs, I like it simple but efficient. I play mmo's mostly, at the moment Wildstar, both raids and pvp.
I use a RAT 7 mmo mouse ... the ability to change the shape to fit your hand really helps, you can also adjust the weight of it, set the sensor level, even a side scroll wheel. But best part was .. it came in white
I tend to get mouse arm so I use a trackball instead, steering with my thumb actually makes me faster and more precise. I use a Logetech M570 at the moment (and a Corsair K70 keyboard). Some people hate trackballs but most my friends who tried for a few hours hotseating have gotten their own. The first few hours before you are used to it is rather hard though.
I use the Mad Catz MMO7. I like that all 14 additional button are unmistakably distinct so the hardware learning curve is almost non-existent. 5 of the buttons are in one mini joystick "HAT" thumb button (up, down, forward, back, in,) 2 are on a thumb wheel (clockwise, anti-clockwise,) 2 are on the inner bottom of the standard left and right buttons and the other 5 are thumb buttons.
Although it's designed for MMOs, I use it for every type of game I play. Programming it is also dead-simple with a very user-friendly profile editor.

I'm using a Razer Naga that I won from mmorpg.com I haven't had any problems with it. It takes some getting used to, but after about a week I got all the buttons learned. Now I would be lost without it.

+1
After long line of Logitechs gaming and non gaming mice which neither made it through the warranty period, using Fireglider for quite a while now and it beats all Logitech mice i owned
what is your favorite gaming mouse and what do you consider as key features?
I honestly love my Razer Naga. It is the mouse that I designed in my head before it ever existed (I tend to do that a lot and should probably be a bit more proactive about doing things with my ideas)
I love that I don't have to remove my left hand from the movement keys and can control 12 buttons with my thumb.

Being a South Paw... unfortunately my options are pretty limited. I did buy a left handed Razer Naga which left me wondering how the hell people manage to use all those buttons without screwing up. Now it just collects dust in my closet.
I just like a good quality, high dpi, ambidextrous traditional mouse with 3 buttons and a scroll wheel.
Just call me old fashioned
edit:
props go to Razer for making the left handed Naga. Wish more companies would make lefthanded peripherals.
Guess they have to keep gaming fair as us Southpaws are capable of using both sides of our brains and all.

Been using this mouse for the past two years. It's my favorite mouse next to the Logitech G5.
