Looks like what I personally wanted No man's sky to be.
I think in retrospect NMS has been good for games like this, Space Engineers and Planet Nomads (which isnt out yet but appears to have a higher than usual pre-hype for a game of its type)

I bought the game, quite the learning curve trying to build your first base. Maybe I'm not the survival game type. I expected a bit less survival/crafting and a bit more combat and space stuff. I still like the game, I just think that people whom are hardcore in to survival and crafting games will enjoy this much more.

I have heard it said that the most rewarding hobbies are those that are no easy to learn. not sure if its true but I tend to get more satisfaction from games that do have a learning curve however to be fair I am not always in the mood to start to learn a new game. When I add a game to my collection its usually when I have the energy and desire to learn yet again new mechanics which is not something I always want to do so I get it

Yea I saw this game the day it showed up on steam, it looks like it could be good but I'm not diving into it right now because I already have so many survival games plus I have Fragmented while I wait for repop, so meh.

based on aother debate on these forums it appears there are many here that feel there is literally zero way to find out if the game is something you might like without playing it. no video, no article, no review.
but I disagree with that view and I think we can do that and thus far I like it personally

After watching a few people playing it on Twitch it seems really deep and requires quite the time investment to get anywhere. Looks decent enough though - may have to try this myself.
I like it. Is it the best game ever? No. Is it polished? No. Yet it is still pretty early in the development cycle and what they do have in place is a really fun experience. It is a much more dedicated survival space game than a NMS or ED for sure. The potential is there for one amazing game.
We should be seeing Planet Nomads as well popping up soon and see what's that one capable of, them and Empyrion are very similar games on this type of survival gameplay + sandbox + space.
Includes Steam workshop. I'll probably give it a go. They have some decent mods already, nice.

The game is worth it, but expect the typical indie early access derpiness.
