I thought AngryJoe documented and showed clearly every aspect and why he gave it the score he did. Not having played the game I got a very in depth idea of what the game was about and what it lacked and why it felt unfinished and a lie.
I dislike people who just make blanket statements about a reviewer without watching or actually making an informed decision about a particular review. He was very clear and well documented.
I've seen several of his reviews.. his take on games isn't always reality.. they are HIS experiences. For example on one game he reviewed.. he had a lot of video tearing... could have been a driving issue, that was the pinnacle of one of his detractor points that he spent a good couple minutes on.
In his SWTOR review he was just flat out wrong on several points of what the game offered at launch. And while I haven't played NMS to point out where he may have been wrong... for example... some noteworthy points would be "no hotkeying" for all I know there could be...
The point stands that he is not a reviewer I watch because he's known to be accurate and trustworthy. Not to mention when watching his review.. near the middle he just keeps yelling the same things in different ways.
At least zero punctuation is funnier, if not about as accurate.

that didnt answer my question.

Nothing angry joe does is the best of anything. He's more for entertainment, usually wrong on a lot of game points, and very wrapped up in his angry persona.
Angry Joe is a fake and a douche bag. Fuck that guy. I won't even give him the satisfaction of a click.

I rather like his videos and they seem to be inline with what others say and seem to be predictably true based on past patterns of said games. He does get a little over excited for my tastes though.

I wasn't responding to you, hence the reason I quoted cheyane. Also the reason I won't waste my time responding to your questions, it's a futile exercise.

I preordered on Steam before I left for vacation (stupid mistake getting sucked in by the hype), but still haven't downloaded or played the game. The video convinced me to get a refund and wait till they patch it to where it was supposed to be -- not release the additions as paid dlc, either.
It's not only AJ. I saw a few other vids with similar complaints and evidence. And the Steam reviews aren't pretty either, so glad I got my refund.
The people bashing on AJ seem really vicious in tone. Why?
AJ is approaching closer to 3 million subscribers. I think a lot of people value the work he puts into his reviews. I do.

same happens to Worth a Buy channel. I am not sure either but part of me feels sad for them. If in their mind these games are good then they are missing out on one of the best eras in game ever because clearly they dont know about these other games and thus dont have a baseline to compare
or maybe the games I am thinking of that are outstanding are just to hard for these folks. I dont know

For some reason everything i read about this game makes me laugh. Its the poster child about why hype is just a bad thing. The game was being hyped up by game sites and magazines over a year before it came out. Maybe a change is needed to stop this kind of thing from happening all the time. Games are never the same when they come out after alpha/beta phases and gamer's should know that. And game sites should do a better job of getting the right info out instead of gushing all over a game in testing phase.
I'm not really an Angry Joe fan as he tends to lack substance. But I have no issues with his review. I've watched several streamers up to and including hitting the galaxy's center. This game is absurdly shallow and lacks replayability. The $60 price point is absurd. Good luck to them conning people in teh future with demos containing features that don't make it to release.
I still play NMS and I have fun doing it. It's not a game you rush to finish, if you're that kind of person it's not for you, and neither is just about any board game or RPG game on the planet. If you just PLAY it, like "play" it. It's fun. There was a time when you were a kid and you just "played" in the sand at the beach and you had fun, you didn't "beat it" or complain about the lack of content, you just played with it.
If this game wasn't hyped the way it was then no one would be complaining about the game but a lot less people would of bought it. The problem isn't that the game is crap, it isn't, it's very innovative and original especially for an Indie game. Everyone is pissed and calling in junk because it was hyped for some small things that it wasn't. Literally everyone is junking the game because two players can't see each other in the same place, there actually is NO multiplayer instead of that sliver of multiplayer that was alluded to in a tweet where you can see another player but not do anything with them.
Many of us are having g a blast playing the game, who gives a fuck what jaded PC players who thought this game was an mmo think.
There is actually no reason at all for this game to be a mmo. Then I will mention the fact that 2 people actually found the same spot and couldn't see each other. But anyways idk about the game itself maybe it would have been much better if they had an ancient civilization at the center then that would have at least given a reason for the MMO. Otherwise its kinda pointless and useless to even have online servers.
No not really, it's not only over two people not meeting each other, it's the fact Sean through out interviews said X, Y and Z feature will be in the game. He built the hype, yes there are those who took it to the extreme, but for the few of us or probably majority, we kept our hype in line with what the offered and we didn't even get that. On top of this there isn't any explanation to why these features are gone.
Don't take what I say he wrong way, I think the foundation of this game is amazing and deserves credit and I think a lot of people feel the same (AJ included), but I'm just disappointed, and on top of this, not say anything before launch when people had already pre-ordered, makes it the little bit more heart breaking.
Maybe they will drop some info and patch up soon. I'll wait an see
At about 8:45, he asked the question that I'd been asking myself every time I'd see these guys do demos and interviews on talk shows:
"Seamless transition from space to ground is great and all, but what is the actual gameplay?"
As it turns out, it seems that it's mining and crafting so you can take off to some other place to mine and craft again. Rinse, repeat.
Glad I dodged the hype bullet. It wasn't hard to see early on that yet another developer vastly mismanaged the scope of their creation, and would release a crapton of nothing.

This pretty much sums it up. After all, his name is Angry Joe, not Objective Joe. I stopped taking him seriously years ago. He's really not even worth the listen, he's actually pretty predictable. Watch a few reviews back to back for yourself.
