"This will be the biggest content expansion to date for this beloved sandbox MMO"
    Sandbox?! P2W he meant -->

OK, the pup is very cool and would look awesome in anyones man-cave.  I have not tried this game, having too much fun in Overwatch.

Those people are wrong. Archeage is not p2w it is more account to win. Because it is f2p sandbox mmo with life and they allow multiboxing to help the game good economy. Also archeage is running special event every month with low labor cost or no labor cost to join the event but bots are not allowed. You have to work with your faction, friends and guild to win the game. P2w is useless if you don't have a team work in your guild and faction to win the war.
If you want to be Green pirates, you are green pirates forever. If you want to be a pirates, you are pirates forever. If you want to be a pro faction, you pro faction forever because Archeage have a politics and justice. Daily living of Asian people like farming, tailoring, handicrafts, husbandry, and gathering. Example; you can get a milk from the cow and the milk use it to make a cheese larder after 3 days you harvest the larder and bring it to the merchant with your friends and guild.

I wanted to like this game. Maybe I'll try it again this winter.

3.0 is basically a relaunch of Archeage if you look at the scope of new content. Really stoked for it.
Too bad they could not get things right the first time.

I think a significant portion of players who haven't played AA in over a year is not really in touch with how the game has changed and the current state.
    So what?
Being out of touch with a game that had its chance?

At one time, I was very interested in this game. At one time, I thought Trion was the best studio in the industry.

Who'd have thought anything could go wrong with that pair up? But it did.

So, the game got "better" in the past year. We all know that they altered their monetization to find their "sweet spot" So what happens if all these "out of touch" players suddenly find themselves "in touch" with this game?

Yeah, Trion will take note of the influx, and immediately ramp up the heavy handed monetization once again.

No, this game is exactly where it should be. I'm glad you are enjoying it, but I don't think too many people are interesting in taking a chance to get burned by Trion again.

Rarely are things done right the first time when it comes to something as complex as MMO launches.

It's a series of trial and error and failure - just like life, you just gotta keep adjusting, learning with each failure and you gotta get back up, dust yourself off and try again.

While I 100% agree, were did they trial the amount of labor points to give players?  It was much higher in beta and lead most people to believe it would not be an issue and then on launch day BAM!!!! labor points cut down in order to sell more potions.

I am ok with companies making mistakes but when every mistake you make seems to revolve around the company getting more money from players then there is an issue beyond just simple mistakes.

We will see - there will most likely be new servers with 3.0 so people can start from scratch with all the new monetization changes, and redone crafting RNG, as well as land ownership changes.

And when that happens, I'll check it out.......with an open mind even. I'll give it a fair shot and go from there. I'll keep expectations low, but reasonable.

I don't think it's a problem that people don't keep up with the game, but that people talk as if they know all about it while not keeping up with the game.  If you're experience is from a year ago, you shouldn't talk with authority on it's current state.

Perception is everything. It doesn't matter if the game is currently P2W or not. Trion soured too many people on this game. People who had a bad experience a year ago, have moved on. They aren't coming back and they aren't wrong.

Don't say they are, but they shouldn't speak definitively on the state of the game today. Perception is not a word to mean 'everything i say is valid' because there are concrete things that change over the course of time.  The simple, 'well it's my perception, so it true' doesn't work.

People saying RIFT is P2W clearly dont understand what the term P2W means.
