We have played Torment: Tides of Numenara, and lo… it was good. During PAX Prime, we got our hands on one of Kickstarter’s most successfully funded gaming projects. It’s been a long time coming, but the InExile team is getting ever closer to releasing this long-awaited successor to Planescape Torment. As such, we sat down with Colin McComb and George Ziets from the team and played a solid 45 minutes of the opening.

It's Numenera, not Nemenara or Numenara. Quality journalism right there, Bill.

Rothfuss is one of my favorite new writers. His participation, the description of the setting, and the turn-based and/or dialogue-based combat are all pulls for me. I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing more on this title.

Thanks for the typo catches. So glad you were able to help in a kind manner without any snark at all.

This sounds fantastic and right up my alley: I like weird as evidenced by me currently reading my way through the Malazen Book of the Fallen series (and no, I still can't visualize "warrens") that most of my fantasy-loving friends refuse to read :)

While I'm really forward to this, I wish the graphics were a bit more impressive. Doesn't really look all that updated from Planes of Torment to be honest. I mean it is a bit, but not by a whole lot, that's for sure. Besides Divinity: Original Sin, it seems like newer CRPGs aren't attempting to really do much in the graphics department. I was excited by this wave of new CRPGs because now we are at a time where game graphics can look awesome, but it seems like most CRPGs kept the great stories, but never got with the times with the graphics

I read literally a tonne of fantasy books. Loved this series. I read a long time back and I enjoyed it I am currently on Carol Berg Transformation. I had just finished China Mieville's Scar before that which I loved . I also adore sci fi was reading Scalzi before that.

My female friends and because of my age am 55 do not share my interest. They don't read sci fi or fantasy. Oddly enough it was my mother who introduced me to this type of books. I remember still when I got my first pay check (tutoring) I bought her Terry Brooks' Sword of Shannara as a  present she was so thrilled.

I am salivating for this game too.

Can't wait for this game. The scenarios and everything reminds me of how imaginative Planescape Torment was. Really looking forward to discovering everything I can in the game!
