:O surprised skyforge is still going on , the first month was cool opening new classes , and what not but the "char power" and the repeat this x100 in order to move 1 slot....was ugh....class werent balanced at all .....i completed berserker and got nearly all the classes and call it was tired of it ...gonna try "ascension" for sure to see if they finally "learned" ....it wasnt p2w and the changes to speed up werent bad , but not "enough"

I had alot of fun playing this until I hit the end game
The end game was one of the most boring stupid grinds I have ever witnessed in an mmo
It was physically painfull playing it so I quit

Dont know if they fixed that

This game is beyound hope, it needs a FF14 remake, but even then it wont be probably good enough to have a name in this over saturated mmo market.

This expansion might actually get me back into SkyForge.

As was mentioned in this article, I quit because too many game systems felt overly convoluted and pointless.

I especially didn't care for the weekly caps on all currencies and the way the Ascension Atlas worked.

Hopefully the changes they bring for the new expansion are in the right direction, because SkyForge has a lot of potential.

So the game isn't pay to win, but it sure is pay to progress if you think about. I have never hit weekly cap, not even once. Buying the sparks replicators that convert to the destruction, balance, creation, or class sparks, Helps you move along the atlas faster. Problem is you can't specifically chose what your sparks replicators are spent on. Another thing is you character doesn't powerful at all. I don't mean it should feel over powered, but some of the mob groups shouldn't take like three or four minutes to put down. I mean regular mobs, not bosses or mini bosses. Plus gear drop is very minimal.

1 - lets get this out of the way - 1 year in Open Beta. It may say that on the label, but come on guys, it's launched. Full stop.

2 - Another dps class. The players where asking for another dps? No, just no. There were plenty of discussions on introducing a healer class - so what did they do? Yet another pew pew class, doing the same kind of things as most of the other classes, just with different animations.

If you're going to introduce a new class, yet another dps was the last thing this game needed. This just shows the format mindset is still bashing things as fast as you can.

A SIGNIFICANT OPPORTUNITY - SIGNIFICANTLY MISSED

As for the repeat zones x times - that was a politician's answer if ever there was one. Cutting through the waffle - Yes, you'll still need to Groundhog Day the limited content zones until you get bored and quit the game.

Skyforge - developers listen. We are seeing these types of shallow pew pew games getting 'shuttered' . Yours will go exactly the same way unless you add a wider variety of class roles, which will in turn allow more in depth group content rather than bashing everything as quick as you can.

Game survival probability - I'll give it 30% max.

for me what made me quit was the blant p2w and the weekly limits, they still not changing that it seems, so no skyforge for me...

Scale of this expansion is close to a full game - which cannot be developed in a year, even with pre-made assets (animations, graphics). So the real questions should be - for how long this "expansion" was in development? What %% was ready a year ago when existing version of Skyforge was published? How can developers justify taking money for a *gameplay which was planned to be scrapped* in 15 months?

    Thank you for your time!

Oh look! Another game has an expansion that will "totally" change the game. LOL.

First off, any moron that says it was P2W hasn't really played the game for more than a week. Not that I'm defending it, I'm not, just get your answers right before you pile on the hate.

The game IS P2Advance. That I won't argue about. PvP has been broken from day 1. The only reason you even que for pvp is because a needed Order item happens to be at that spot. This games biggest flaw were the caps on everything. Now, caps are being removed and gated content is being added.

From what I've read and seen, the russians hate it. The Order system is gone. The skills system is screwed up beyond measure and their taking away the ability to convert ingame currency.

My guess is they're making it easy play because Mycom is pushing Revelations Online as the newest shiney and they need the new players in Skyforge to progress quicker and feel like they're awesome and they keep piling the money on.

I'll give it 60 days after expansion before it goes the way of Firefall. Both great games when they first dropped, killed by to much change, none of it wanted by the players.

Next time you do a review, actually take the time to browse the forums and see what the questions you should be asking are...

Sounds like they are far exceeding the value of this expansion.
To me it sounds like more of the same with a new class, the additions are meaningless to CHANGE.

They miss the boat on making a MMO,this is primarily a single player game with occasional 3 man groups. One VERY large problem is the game always felt meaningless and the same.
I feel bottom line is the game was and likely still is near dead,so they are trying to stir up interest with a new class and some advertising.

My suggestion, make a better game or really make changes to a poor design like you claim to be doing and this does NOT sound like major changes.Nothing sounds interesting to make me want to go back in and see, still looks like surface rust needing a new paint job.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

Are they going to open all the classes up or still keep it that bullcrap unlock method? That was the instant turn off for me.

Weekly limits was aspect of the game so didn't become p2w after you hit your limit thats it. Don't level at all until next week no way to get around that with money.

To be honest, this site isnt known for its "hard hitting" journalism.

I enjoyed the game at the start, unlocked several classes, then looked ahead at the amount of work required to achieve anything more and that was it for me. A lot of great ideas but made for grinders.

Does this expansion remove the caps? If so I'll probably try it again. If not I would rather not.

I wasn't a huge fan of repeating the same missions hundreds of times to the 2nd power... Other than that the game was fun. They were trying (I think) for an arcade feel, it just became an arbitrary grind.

But, there's a lot here to work with.

I wouldn't even bother i had made a comment in a thread which never got answered so i thought i would make a thread to try and get a response and this is all i got as a reply.

    https://eu.portal.sf.my.com/comments/57ce140fac7241c4776def59

They're basically removing something from the game i paid for so i posted to see if they will refund what i paid for it and that was the response i got from the forum moderator, I'm not sure what i am supposed to be waiting for.

If you want to read more this might be of interest because they say they're removing caps but seems like there is still caps but it's all time gated, seems people are still trying to figure out what is going on, I myself  i'm not playing right now i went and bought FF XIV.

All i can say is beware of my.com because even before the announment they even did a sale on argents and did an event for one day, if you bought argents and used them for upgrades they would refund them argents on the 7th sept then released this update info a week later, but with so many things changing and things being removed from the game, certain things that were bought with real money are being combined in a way people don't know if they're still getting the true value of the item they bought.

I forgot to add even though some people think it's pay2win now which i don't and you can farm credits now and convert them to argents wait until the expansion comes, I forgot they're changing the currency converter apparently you will not be able to convert your credits to argents any more but you will still be able to convert argents to credits, for people who don't know argents are the things you can buy with real money.

I did enjoy this game I got a copy from a contest this site had and I played it for awhile. I think I got stuck at some instance and never got back to it for some reason or another. I know that does not bode well for  my recommendation but it was a good game but repetitive because I was not very good at the game and had to repeat the easier content over and over so probably my fault.
