Korean monitor for the GTX 1070

d_20d_20 Member RarePosts: 1,878
I just got my new GTX 1070 and want to get a monitor. Saw some info on youtube about monitors but nothing about the Korean brands that are most accessible to me in Seoul. Mostly Samsung and LG available in Seoul.

Anyone have any suggestions on good Korean monitors to run with my new card?

If u want to get really good cheap monitors try to find some Achieva Shimian or Qnix models.

Though be careful as most models from these less know brands only come with dual dvi link (That might be an issue in a few years if even the AIB partners for gpus drop the cable standard).

Try to find one with the newest display port, and if it's not much cheaper than LG or Samsung, then get a known brand.

Thanks for your reply. That's a cool link, so I will check it out.

All in all, I'd rather go to Home Plus or some place like that to get a name brand for the warranty.

I like the online shopping. Will check out Gmart. I think you're right about Home Plus, etc. As you said Vutar, Yongsan is actually the best place to go and we are taking a trip out there today to pick up a PS4 as well.

hue hue hue hue peasants. I am using an LG 27UD88. Runs about $600. You can also get the same monitor without a USB Type-C and active color calibration for $400, the LG 27UD68.

I wound up getting the LG27UD88 for 640,000 KRW at an LG outlet in Yongsan. That's about $600. I felt alright spending a bit more for this awesome monitor since I got the 1070 instead of the 1080.

The Bezels are really thin, so watch where you put your fingers. The display should come out flawless as each one is calibrated at factory.
