$25 million, that's a nice injection of startup capital. Hopefully they make good use of it.

Personally I'd hope they come up with something new and unique and not be the "spiritual successor" to anything.

Maybe they'll buy Project Copernicus, lol. Last I heard it's still being held on life support waiting for a buyer. By now the price MUST be $10 million or less.

Something to get the $25M back pretty quick I'd imagine.

I home they put out a better product than the garbage they put out in Diablo 3.

All we need is a hardcore reimagined everquest. Either that or tie into wotc and give us a mtg mmo. I'm up for anything really with trinity group play, player light sources, and physically carried keys, long dungeon crawls, and progressive level play with strong social dynamics.

Eh, with all these talk about connections it's gonna be a Facebook game. Blizzard already turned there with their reasoning about Diablo 3's always on including allowing basically anyone to join your game, and then Hearthstone. And so far,  Blizzard's ex-employees rarely end up making something worthwhile. The only real good thing was ArenaNet with Guild Wars, and they messed up the sequel..and then Torchlight, which was okay, but far from being a Diablo.

Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

You might want to give that dream up... I'm pretty sure no one is ever going to pay money to board that disaster of a sunken ship.

Anyway, I hope they make something cool, but that statement was nothing more than buzzwords.  It should be interesting to see what's what when they finally announce something.  Just having a company with actual money working on a real MMO again is big news on its own.

I don't get where these comments come from. D3 is one of the best ARPGs I've ever played. It really does it all so well.

It's incredibly challenging, but the player gets to define their challenge level.

There are a lot of builds within each class and ways to play. On top of that the game lets you rework and tweak your builds whenever you want. You don't have to reroll, grind out a respec potion for 50 hours, or pay $5 in the cash shop. You just tweak your character how you like.

I don't think the game is perfect either. For one, The. Grind. Is. Real. That can really take the wind out of my sails in a game - hitting that wall of grind and losing motivation to keep playing that character. That is not a trait of D3 alone. Most ARPGs and MMOs have huge grinds for end game progression.

All said though, it just plays so well. So it's interesting to me that anyone who loves ARPGs wouldn't like D3.
I think the release version is what tainted his opinion. Blizzard has redeemed itself with D3 IMHO, if they would have continued with the release version, I believe they would have destroyed the franchise.

D3 wasn't bad... just didn't quite hook me like GrimDawn did.

I had the same reaction to D3 as I did to Doom3.  Been there done that only with newer pixels.

Yes and no. Reaper of Souls is far better than release D3, but it's still pretty content-lite. Their development has been laughably slow, usually with little in the way of new zones or gear between seasons. It really leaves me to wonder what the development team is actually doing.
