I think the writers at Arenanet have a dragon fetish.

Like nearly every game, and it does get kind of stale after a while. Companies could get a little creative and invent creatures/gods.

That is a low quality trailer right there. They should start working on a sequel that fixes their issues.

^^ Why do you think so?

I think it's one of their best trailers so far, but many of their past trailers were crap especially the one that didn't show game play and showed RL people chilling around. Hot Trailer was decent too.

Guild Wars 2's dragons are more like eldritch abominations. They don't function on the same level of typical fantasy dragons. In fact, they only look vaguely like what is typically described as a dragon.

And on top of that, they kind of kick the ass of just about any other dragon in fiction. These things are enormous and their effects on the world are huge. Just look at Kralkatorrik's branded scar across Ascalon and the Crystal Desert. That's his wingspan. The sheer size and power of that dragon is tangibly higher than just about any other fictional example.

I used to love GW2 until the Pay wall content issue became annoying. so wont be buying this one.

As far as the Dragons go they dont bother me at all, GW2 at least makes them look good... cant say that for other games...

Played: UO, LotR, WoW, SWG, DDO, AoC, EVE, Warhammer, TF2, EQ2, SWTOR, TSW, CSS, KF, L4D, AoW, WoT

Playing: The Secret World until Citadel of Sorcery goes into Alpha testing.

Tired of: Linear quest games, dailies, and dumbed down games

    Anticipating:Citadel of Sorcery

No one will be buying this because it's free.

    Wow, troll got trolled!

On topic: Does anyone know where the six gods right now? I'm kinda curious why they've been silent all this time...

You know, most of the Guild Wars 2 community seems to have forgotten that the real-life launch trailer even existed. I certainly did - twice. It's probably the brain protecting itself from traumatic memories now that I think about it.

It's a trailer for a patch, not an expansion... do you guys expect a company to put as much work into a patch trailer as the launch trailer?

There is no pay wall for any new zone, there are few season 2 stories you have to pay some gems for if you weren't online when they were active but you just need to log on to get it for free. The only zones that cost money are the ones in the expansion.

As for dragons, while they are the main point of the game I wouldn't mind a Cantha expansion with another focus.

It's one of the big mysteries.
When you decide to fight Abaddon on GW1 you use a place of power to ask the gods for their assistance.
Instead their avatars show up and tell you that the gods are with you in whatever you do.
*edit* Meh as usual the timestamp is not working on this forum.

Kind of Star Wars style: "Obi Wan will always be with you."

My personal guess is that the gods retreated because they realised dumping humans in a land that already belonged to another tribe was kind of a stupid idea.
After all the war lasted for over 1000 years.

So maybe they left before their decisions would cause more trouble for the mortals they actually want to protect and guide.

That is one theory. There is also a theory that the gods and the dragons are one and the same, rotating in cycles. The elements of each god and dragon do line up, more or less.
