If I'm lucky should live to a ripe old age, but one day it is inevitable that there will be a cataclysmic apocalyptic event. 100 years or 100 million it'll happen. What do you think will ultimately lead to mankinds downfall?
Will it be a supervolcano, one so big it blocks out the sun and never stops.
Either manmade or natural a worldwide plague like bird flu would be devestating.
Could there really be aliens out there ready to destroy us.
Maybe we will simply run out of water or fuel with increasing pressures on the environment.
Perhaps a stray meteor which usually gets scooped up by Jupiters gigantic gravitational field heads to Earth.
Or could we just kill each other relentlessly.
Weather across the globe is getting more freakish and violent, could something happen that just triggers a series of freak events.
Or something else?
No annoying animated GIF here!

My guess is that my country will eventually blow up the entire planet in a fit of rage...or just for the hell of it. Actually the latter seems more likely.
Go America! We arent done...not everyone hates us yet.

Hehe, another public school system developed, self loathing communist. Get over yourself... Chuck Norris is a better answer... hehe
Main Entry: com·mu·nism
Pronunciation:
'käm-y&-"ni-z&m
Function: noun
Etymology: French communisme, from commun common
1 a : a theory advocating elimination of private property b : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
2 capitalized a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the U.S.S.R. b : a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production c : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably d : communist systems collectively
I'm really curious where Remyburk's comments as to the fate of mankind fall into par with Communism? I won't even bother to touch on the "public school developed" comment as it really has no relevance either.
As to the question posed by the OP it is probably one of a couple things that will finally "off" us. We'll either kill ourselves over a piece of land, Earth will get sick of us an hand us a 30-day eviction notice, or everyone will become so enthralled playing MMOs that we fail to propagate as a species and die out with only Chinese Gold Farmers surviving in underground bunkers.
Scientifically, we all know that Earth will only last so long. Not because we're stripping resources or polluting it, but because Sol will go sooner or later. If we're not smart enough to get off the planet by then that will probably get us.
Final note: I went to public schools in what is considered one of the worst states in the U.S. and even I know that "Self-loathing" is a hyphenated term and the over use of an ellipsis is grammatically incorrect.
In any case, why worry about what may happen? Live for today and enjoy it while you can. Eat what you want because something else can just as easily kill you no matter how healthy you may be.
'Nuff said.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
Hmmm, if by religion, God will cause the end of the world.
Scientifically, watch Perfect Disaster on the Discovery Channel (^_^).

Ourselves.
People have always been evil, we are just more efficient now and will be even worse later unless we stop ourselves.
Edit:
I am a humanist. the greatest good and evil both come from humans. Guess I should have stated that rather than make it look liek a guilt trip~ :P
Ok, then! *shoots myself in the head* I'm one step ahead!
*Then, with a only a very few time left, jumps off a cliff* Support the cause! Lol. (^_^)

I don't know if it's wrong of me or not, but when you said that I heard the old "Oh no!" from Lemmings! and saw you plummeting to your death.

scientificaly, i agree with daemon. i watch discovery . but i dont think we will give mother nature a chance to wipe us out. i say we will beat her to it. my vote goes for world war 3. the world is falling apart all around us, the nukes will start dropping sooner or later.
not to mention hitler's war was all about religion, the seven day war, captitolism v communism is sort of a religious war once you think about.
all conflict in my mind starts with a difference of belief, whether cultural, religious, political, or personal.
i think if at the begining of the development of human civilization we had all been on one island, with no boats, or ways off the island, and we all had the same environment and lived in close proximity with each other. There could be no war between countries, religions, or cultures.

Not sure what will end it, but I do know the last words that will be spoken.

It's my belief that religions, as a whole, are created by the stubborn ignorance of man. Ignorance to the possibilities that their beliefs are wrong. Have you ever tried to convince a Christian that their religion is possibly wrong? Try it sometime, it's impossible. They are completely close-minded and ignorant.
So I have to say it is Ignorance that will ultimately kill us all, not nesseccarily religion.

It's not the religions themself. But how people read. understand and live by them that is the problem. And many religous people seem to have big issues with others not believing in their God.
Mankind will kill mankind.
