in Guild Wars
I just ordered it. What am I to expect depth and character diversity wise? Is there alot to do in the game?

    If its the original youll get 6 professions to choose from, but seeign as you can have 2 professions per char that adds up fast for lots of choices. The 2nd GW has 8 professions. Plenty to do in the original, but there is 10x as much in the sequal from what weve seen on the weekend.

    Dont waste your money... its one of the best games ever made :)

    dont be fooled by number of proffesions... its a great game

    When you first start, every character of the same class is going to look alike. It's mostly the armor, but there's also a limited amount of face/hair/color options. After you've played for a bit and gotten some different armor (and dyed it prehaps), characters start to look less and less alike.

    As far as story depth, don't let those other players make you skip the cutscenes! That's where a big chunk of the story is. If you also take the time to read everything the NPC's tell you, you'll be rewared as well.

    ok mate i got some good advice for ya ;)

    - start the game playing PVE and PVE only! join a pve guild (not pvp) beat the game 2 times with 2 different class's this way u will have unlocked skills/runes/weapon pommels and hilts etc + gained the experiance to work in a team!

    - Start doing 4 man PVP either random or non random

    - After getting over 50k faction and unlocking more skills etc u are ready to start HOH.. now beleive me when i say HOH is hell! u wont get how it works till about 4 months of play, people think they understand it after 1 weeks work of hoh but ill tell u now that there one of those "check moral=6% run up kill prot, kill monks, kill rest of team and leave one hanging, kill ghostly, kill last guy, check time 20 seconds w00t free fame" type teams.  Start trying to get into unranked groups because ur not gonna have any luck getting into ranked groups, after 1 month of intensive hohing u will get rank 3 and it will start getting easier to get in a group.

    HOH is a bitch.. and i mean it! but it gets u ready for the real battle which is gvg.. once ur rank 3 or 6 join a rank 3+ or a rank 6+ guild and u will enjoy the game heaps

    by the time this is done it will be christmas and u can get factions lol

    Best game I ever played. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that you can only get as high as level 20, but it takes a very long time to get there. There are many things to do in GW. There are 24 mission in the story and 126 quests to do in between. Lots and lots of armor types and weapons, which you can upgrade with these things called runes that stand for different things. For example, if you are an elementalist and you find a major rune of fire magic, you can put it on one of your armor pieces to make your fire magic. Also you can upgrade your weapons with items like, if you have a sword, you can put a haft of _______. I have a lvl 20 Warrior/Monk named Sir Pepjag, look me up for advice or help if you want.
