The acronym MMORPG use to mean Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

But the acronym MMMORPG now currently means Microscopic Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Kappa.

Why watch when you can just play?

I have had an amazon prime sub for a few years now and it pays for itself with the shipping alone.  The video content and book thing is ok, but mostly added fluff I dont take advantage of usually.  I don't watch people stream and even if it's free it won't change that.

Watching any stream on twitch is free.  Subbing is just a way to support an individual streamer.

I usually like to have a stream up on my second monitor while I play a video game myself.

Who uses the internet a lot and doesn't have an Amazon Prime membership? The ship times of more than 2 days must be annoying. Since I live in a US port of entry, I can get items shipped from Korea arrive in 1-day (time zone differences plays a factor).
I don't plan to watch other people play games.

Some billions of people I would say. A lot of young people as well.

Some of whom won't be at all interested in watching Twitch streams ........ but some will.

And of those there will be some without Prime, people who haven't been swayed by the the TV or books or music or Cloud storage or ..... for them Twitch may tip the balance prompting them to get Prime.

And if they get Prime they may buy stuff on Amazon. And so potentially Amazon save money on delivery costs; their bargaining power with suppliers increases - for goods, TV shows, music tracks and so forth.

And that is before you start to think about the advertising potential.

To be fair those items that are "shipped from korea" and arrive in just 1 day are already sitting in a warehouse stateside and I would receive them a day or two later even living in the middle of the US.  It takes longer than that to load and even get a ship across the pacific.  Something like 2 weeks minimum to load, travel and unload at the bare minimum.

Prime is indeed awesome but it isn't for everyone.  I am not sure I would have it if I didn't live in a small town and my decent big store shopping options are an hour round trip.
