Hey guys,
I think it's time for me to star building a new PC and upgrade from my old sandy bridge build. There are several things that are just going wrong: PSU is starting to fail, one stick of RAM went bad, some of the external connectors on the case no longer function. At this point I'd rather just upgrade the build and start fresh.
I already have a GTX 980 Ti that I bought earlier this year and I would be using that in this new build. So this new build doesn't need a GPU.
Things I don't need:
- GPU
- Display/mouse/keyboard/speakers
I would need a new case as my old one doesn't have a back panel for cable management. And I would love the PSU to be modular. Since the budget is enough without worrying about a GPU I would like a larger SSD (750GB+), if possible.
If anyone has an suggestions I'd love to hear them. This will be used exclusively for gaming.

The case is cheap but it will fit everything and you may want to add a couple of case fans to it, it has 3 already.
You may want to pass an old HDD or whatever you have into this one for extra storage. Note that enable the M.2 Will disable some ssd headers so RTFM first when assembling so you don't have to try and squeeze fingers in it later to swap if its unrecognizable.
If you only have an OEM versions of windows or want to keep the old build around for utility you will have to add $100 for a new copy.
No Optical drive is included as I'm guessing the 15 bucks for a new one or the old one will suffice.
Enjoy and best of luck!
Storage is easy to add in the future, very, very easy.
Maybe sell 980ti and buy 1070 for it?
But in your case its better to upgrade it. Cheapest minimum i5 6500 xD
1070 is slightly better, and def better for vr. And the 6gb vs 8gb for future gaming xD
