Even though this is a civil matter and the burden of proof is on the defendant, it will hold little weight in court. There are many avenues of defense in this case. There is the Steam Distribution agreement, there is simply freedom of speech, and there is outlining how the statements are not false.
Steam is in a position and I'm sure willing to spend any amount of money crushing these guys before paying out a single penny to settle. This is a matter of principal and precedence. And I'm betting these guys don't have 2 nickles to rub together in the first place to see it through. So the case is probably DOA ( other than the cost to file some paper work ).
It's PR that's it. And bad PR for sure, since I'm sure most of their game sales are through Steam, they just bite the hand that feeds them.
