Eeek! Runaway!
Which makes me think. Do the producers of STO have reliable publisher backing? If not, then the merger with one of the larger publishing companies is quite likely, especially since ST is pretty hot IP, and requires decent marketing and exposure, considerably larger than, both in scope and difficulty, than most companies can afford.
Now, how many MMO publishers willing to back STO can you name?
What was the MxO story again?
Actually....
SOE is the planned publisher for Perpetual's "Gods & Heroes"....and YES, there is a HUGE amount of clammer for PE to back out of that deal...myself included.
BUT..... PE has sworn to us all that SOE has NO control over the game AT ALL, just being used for publishing purposes...(for me that's still too much, but I will calm down eventually about that)
BUT I'm saying up front that if you put SOE's name on the box of Star Trek Online, I may decide to not play it....pure and simply put...SOE is a company I do not find worthy of my money ever again.
Faxx.
(Why can't Perpetual just offer their games as a download?) bandwidth limits do not hit me as a valid excuse btw.

I am a huge Star Trek fan, however, I agree with Faxxer, if SOE has any ties to STO, I myself
will not play it either and I hope it flops for SOE!
Flee! Flee for your lives!!!!!!!1111one

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

I think PE knows that already.
The public (esp. their forums) flipped when they got aware of PE teaming up with SoE's Platform Publishing.
PE said it is just the publishing, which SoE rules (lol...), but the developement and customer service is still PE.
I say: Be very very carefull what you do PE, its not important if you just sniff or finally taste the .... of the devil: You touched it - and every1 touching SoE has shi... on his hands these days.
If you want to get a promising title going, without the shadow and smell of death on it, steer clear of SoE...
And one final note:
The potentialSTO customer is most likely someone with SWG-experience.
Consider that any SWG refugee get major pimples when the new "home" (aka STO)
has anything like SoE on the box.
This would be like Linus Torvald (Owner/Developer of the Linux Kernel) teaming up with Microsoft for publishing...you must have smoked some very destructive substances for years to even think about this.

yes is an SOE prototipe i wont play it, I am not going to be dealing with the same tragedy one more time.
To paifull
Is there any proof of this yet?
I really want to know. My guild was planning on heading to STO, but we a very strong NO SOE policy. Would suck if it went that way.
