Comments
Yes. I'm going back.
SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!
Hi all,
Well it looks like they made a number of fixes and brought back a couple of the original SWG principals like no cert on most armor. The one thing I do see that I thought was a step in the right direction was the ability of the player changing their TEF status in the field instead of having to go to a recruiter or officer to do so and the 5 min window is a good thing [keep players from exploiting]. I wonder what took them so long. Not sure I like how they are doing the BH PvP system yet.
Still with all this, I still can't see myself going back. It is still no longer the great game it was and severely lacks the things that I and others liked about the game.
IMO,

And SWG hits a new Low, ROFLMAO!!!
WTH are they thinking? The whole publish is a joke, but this is the lowest thing I've ever seen! I guess you no longer need to know anything about the profession to be a Master in it, lol. Well this is just sad... they replaced a deep, meaningful, fun, skills system with a joke system were anyone can but their way to master another profession. Yeah, that's real Star Warsy...
"100,000 credits and you too can be a master of the force!"
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

No, when you respec you become level 1 if I'm understanding Rogue_5 correctly...
I'll try it on TC later once the update finishes.

First, you're wrong:
This game is a joke, and becoming more of a joke everyday. I use to take pride in what I earned in SWG. Can you say that now?
The game is DEAD. If you don't believe me, read the OFFICAL FORUMS. EVEN SMED SAID THE GAME IS STILL LOOSING MORE PLAYERS THAN IT'S BRINGING IN!
All this Pub shows us is that they are CLUELESS.
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
now to compare showing why SOE will not be able to compete without a significant change in tactics and treatment of their customers.
Please note the effort placed in these Patchs.. while I am not fond of the direction that game has gone it is clear that the developers love their game and want it to continue to succeed.
World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.10.0

Adventurers of Azeroth can now quest to upgrade their previous Rare-quality Dungeon set to a new, higher-quality set, including epic gear! These tasks include all-new boss encounters, so prepare your finest group of dungeon-delvers and prepare for a challenge!
Weather!
Weather has been introduced in the following areas around Azeroth:- Elwynn Forest
- Tirisfal Glades
- Dun Morogh
- Darkshore
- Alterac Mountains
- Stranglethorn Vale
- Feralas
- Un'Goro Crater
- Tanaris
- Winterspring
- Ahn'Qiraj
We will be adding more weather to the world as time progresses; this is simply the beginning!
High-Level Instance Changes
Along with the new Armor Sets, the high-level 5-10 man dungeons have received some changes regarding loot. Many items have been improved in quality and use. In addition, several epic items, such as Headmaster's Charge and the Runeblade of Baron Rivendare, have had their drop rates significantly increased. In order to preserve the challenge of these dungeons, they have had their instance caps lowered. Stratholme, Scholomance, and Blackrock Depths now allow a maximum of five players inside, and Blackrock Spire allows a maximum of ten.
Quest Experience to Gold Conversion at Level 60
Previously, quest experience was wasted if one completed a quest at level 60. In this patch, any quests done at maximum level will have their experience reward converted to a healthy amount of gold, thus adding additional incentive to completing those quests in your log once you hit 60.
New Final Destination Flight Paths!
If you're making several jumps to get to your destination, you will now be able to choose that flight path from your initial Flight Master. The costs will remain the same, but you no longer need to manually click on each path. The UI has also been improved significantly.

Well, you don't drop to level 1, you drop to level 5 Tried it on TC and others have reported the same thing.
Personally the way I think they should have done it was the more you pay, the more you can respec over, with 25mil being a full lvl 90 to lvl 90 respec.
Yeah yeah, game is dead, blah blah Got a PvP group to join, see ya later

Funny thing about this focus on weather the only reason it is even in is because people wanted it, as for why they took so long /shrug who knows, my own suspicion says lag complaints made them blink .
More to the point there was work done on all the proffessions along with a revamp of one proffessions talent trees. As for me WoW was fun for a while but to easy, I had hoped to hit swg again, came back a few weeks before the nge, and was getting settled in when they blindsided us, lol so much for getting back into an mmo that had challenge and took some thought ::sighs::.
lol if they were going to turn it into an fps the least they could have done was subcontract Valve or IDsoftware to convert the combat and npc AI.
2 years later and 6 million customers, 70 million dollars profit a month and they bring you......WEATHER!!! And a bunch of other spam. Die.
2 years later and SOE adds PVP servers to EQ2... And a bunch of other spam. Die. ^^
All ur Mountain Dew is belong to me.
Well, I stand corrected... they're not clueless, just idiots.
Folks can barely get to LVL 90 now, and they're supose to do it again how exactly?
Wow, and you think these Ignorant Fools can keeep this game going?
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

Somehow, patch notes always end up being a WoW vs. SWG pissing contest. As much as I don't like SWG current form - SWG should not be compared to WoW when it comes to amount changed in a patch or publish. WoW has more of a budget and untold amounts of devs to funnel into such things. SWG's budget and devbase has been whittled down and streamlined so their focus is more narrow. Yeah, its thier fault but still - its like comparing a huge construction effort to a midsized one. The scope is too dissimilar to compare with any fairness.
As for the weather thing, its a fluff feature. I don't play WoW anymore but that patch list was extensive - weather was the least noteable thing. Though for the record, I have yet to see a patch of any sort not receive critisism from someone or some faction. Nature of the beast.
Still too little, too late.
Nothing here will bring former players back, or attract new ones.
NGE Refugee.
NICE!

I see no direction still with this patch. It's still blatantly obvious the development team has no vision or direction for their efforts. They are still developing off the hip and developing to try to get people BACK or interested because all their other off the hip idea's have tanked severly.
I don't care what they publish in a patch note, 3 patches later they will change it again anyways.

They can patch till they turn all green.
No amount of patches can make the NGE playable.
They had the perfect starting point in the pre cu system and should have worked from there.

SWG pre cu - never forgotten.
SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!
