I still can't figure out why they are making this game with such a tarnished name. I'd say they are hoping people won't remember, but that would be a poor business decision.
I disagree, it's very smart. They took a game that never "took off" and that has a somewhat infamous name to those who follow mmo's.
They only show a bit of info at a time but the info that is coming out is enticing. People are going to be curious, intrigued and want to know if this game is really going to rise from the ashes (so to speak).
Obviously it's not the same game, and they've said that, but name recognition is important and people love a "comeback kid".

"The lord possesses command of mythical mounts, and uses their power to guide other residents of the city in all aspects of daily life, from housing and trade to defense against external threats.
.....with all trade happening at the discretion of the lord."
The "Lord" and PVP system gives me concerns that this game will quickly become a militaristic society like Eve. I don't want to log on and be told what to do. Some days I want to log in and hunt, some days days I want to craft, mine, explore ....ect. CTAs(Call to arms) ruined eve for me. Finally get a day off work to relax and play a game...and some asshat with a superiority complex is telling me what to do with my game time. "Get in fleet or get kicked out of the alliance!"
Wow why the heck are you in that corp? I have played Eve for 10 years and never had anyone say that to me. It is your bad choice of a corp, not the game.
I am very conflicted about this game, snail games are well known cash shop abusers. Hope it is not the case with this game.
My corp is fine, but most every alliance we join has the same attitude as described.
Like I said before, been in a bunch of corps over the years and never had that happen. Most corps are not like you describe, our alliance has 7 corps in it and not one of them do that and they are all good corps. Sure we have scheduled events where we fleet up, but that does not occur more than a few times a month.
It's looking great, as we've known for a while. Decent info came from the press-release PDF, somewhat of a themepark start to the game (which I don't mind at all). Now we just need... gameplay videos.
WHAT is looking great? there isnt anything to look at??
The screenshots? Screenshots arent worth anything and hardly representative of a final game... The listed features? All mmo projects in recent years have gone overboard with better bigger feature lists - talk is cheap
No gameplay, no videos, no nothing - if a game releases in one or two months and you have no gameplay to show for...this should be a MAJOR red flag within the mmorpg community with regards to all the failures of the recent years...
If i had a game short before release and wanted to create buzz, a game im proud of and convinced its great - i would show as much gameplay as possible - look at all the gameplay from civ 6 for example? Why - cause it looks great and they know it... at this point im gonna assume this is another failure until convinced otherwise by GAMEPLAY.
Yep, I meant the screenshots because that's all we have to look at so far. And they do look good, but I'm not assuming the game's good from the screenshots. I mentioned we need gameplay videos.

I've always liked the choice of flagging when you want to PvP.
