My.com has sent word that Cloud Pirates, its airship shooter, will be starting closed beta testing on October 18th. The first CBT event will run through October 24th and will feature twenty-one ships in three weight categories and be able to participate in four different game modes on four maps.

    If Cloud Pirates was an MMO, I'd be all over that like wet paint on ignorant hands. But now I'll just play it for a few days just to see how fun it is.

    This is not a game.
