about the same amonut time took to make the other pos the op made
That's interesting, because he has absolutely nothing to do with the game, so how would he know? The truth is somewhere in the middle, I'm sure. Either way, it's a dispute between employees and shouldn't have been made public in the first place.

Very interesting read.
This explains some of the happenings when I was playing the game. I beg to differ about it being made public. Most players ( I think) WANT to know what is happening at a company whether its good news or bad. I am following Vanguard currently and I (personally) would like to know if something like this happened with them.
If you ever get to read what happened with Horizons, from both sides that was an incredibly interesting read as well.
Plus, I will agree with the statement the op's link does seem to match a lot of what Kishe has told us from when he was working with the devs. The truth probably is somewhere in the middle but I think it's leaning more toward the ganked.com side.
Cool great yeah.. Irth online is a joke and will never go anywhere we already know that same with Dark and light, and Mourning. Irth online is just another peice of shit put on the market that will probably never go over 5k subs and will eventually end.
Kids will be kids...lol... wait , was it lit? Do I hear arson charges? Endangering the lives of others? lol
I love this quote: Westy when he threw the Cigarette at Damian, and also flipped out in the office in front of everyone lost confidence from the investors for his actions in the office.
This would make a great Novela!
Grow up, already.
I had to.. Sorry I just couldnt control myself. lol
The weakness of our country - we lack self-control. lol
While I never was employee, I've had a chance to speak with many of the past and current workers of Magic Hat Software...even been in contact with the holders of ganked.com alot.
While there are alot going on, by what I know, none of it is as scandalous as either side wants you to think...this is just internal company dispute gone ugly...nothing more, nothing less...lots of greedy people fighting for bigger slice of the cake (some people would picture it as muffin more than a cake in this case)
in mmorpg terms what happened to Irth and its devs was that group of ebayers tried to go to epic raid :P
Seriously, while I disagree with alot MHS has done, both sites has 90% of personal hatred towards each other and 10% of actual case...
Unfortunately a UO2 will never happen EA owns the rights and they're too busy making craptacular sports games for people too lazy to go outside and play the sports themselves.
In short: UO2 can't happen until EA makes it or grants the rights to another company. And EA making it would SUCK... granting the rights to another company isn't likely to happen. EA is stingy.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online. Sig image Pending Still in: A couple Betas
The players in question here need to whip out their copy of the Talmud and learn how to conduct business.
If you spent more time making the game great and less time concerned about power and money, then you would have both power and money, not to mention happiness.
Get back together shake hands, and get crackin' on that game!
At first I was going to try it out, but then heard nothing good about it, and the fault lies with all of you.
Both sides have their own side of the story to the issue at hand and both are right in some cases and wrong in others. In the end the key factor here is Irth failed miserably, and regardless of who's fault it is, it's someone's fault that the game was released in a crippled state with many of the planned features never released. Not to mention that the site is a pathetic excuse for a site, if you're going to be serious about contending in the MMO market you have to be serious in all aspects, including a profressional site, not some pre-made portal type site.

Everyone seems to have the misconception that Irth sucks. Irth doesn't suck. MagicHat deliberately made it look like it sucks.
It was released to look like it was crippled for a reason. This represents the crippled state of the civilizations at war. And they didn't release all the planned features so that the game players will be immersed into a barren and desolate world. And the site was deliberately made to look amateurish to make it stand out from all the other cookie-cutter sites. MagicHat is simply making an artistic statement by making everything they do look sucky. And, uh...

I agree. Dungeon Keeper 3, never going to happen. Syndicate Wars Revolution, lost. Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn 3, gone. Command and Conquer Red Alert 3, forgotten. -and- Command and Conquer Renegade 2, didnt even make it off the story boards.
EA swallows a game company then scraps all its projects.
Yes I'd like to know what happen to the webpage too.. and no I'm not a subscriber but a former beta tester. It was down for me yesterday and still is today. Has Irth gone caput? Not surprised if it did.
It's an interesting read. Not nearly as interesting as the David Bowman takeover of Horizons but few people can even aspire to be of his standards in backstabbing. It really surprises me how stupid some people can be in not protecting their work and their rights.
What kind of a company would post its very private detailed problems publicly on the web, even if some disgruntled partners had done the same?
NOT A WISE MOVE.
I was considering trying this game, but now there is not even a consideration.
I would never consider a game managed by such foolish people, the overwhelming chances are that I would be wasting my time.
Both of the public postings are against both parties interests. Niether posting helps the very project they are fighting for and will likely only result in less to fight over. It seems they have both lost sight of the "big picture."
The best chance you guys have is to work something out between yourselves privately and put it in writing; only using attorneys for consultation.
So basically, Irth fell flat on it's big stupid face and now the finger pointing has begun. After "playing" this game (I use the term playing loosely), I would be embarrased to even mention my name and the word Irth in the same sentence if I were a developer of it...but that's just me. 40 subscribers? Don't they think that number is a bit optimistic?
