Knights of the Eternal Throne Brings the MMO Back to SWTOR

It took longer than expected, but BioWare Austin finally unveiled SWTOR’s next expansion, Knights of the Eternal Throne, at this year’s New York Comic Con Cantina event. Keep in mind that there will be spoilers for the current expansion ahead, so you’ve been warned if you haven’t wrapped Knights of the Fallen Empire up yet.

This game is getting better and better. I still find bugs from time to time, but they seem to be listening to the player base and are really trying to improve the game. Again, I'm not discounting the flaws, just saying that I see improvement. Ultimately it comes down to whether you want to be in the Star Wars universe.

Regardless people forget that the game was fairly well received initially. Most people enjoyed the story and leveling process. Complaints didn't really start flooding in for a couple weeks when more players began to reach end game.

"Return to MMO" is playing a bit fast and loose with what they said.

Yes there will be new repeatable content in the form of Uprisings which are effectively 4-man flashpoints (aka dungeons). They're still waffling on telling raiders that they've stuck a fork in that mode. Not a breath about any new PvP maps or modes and even less about GSF. GC seems to be Conquest 2.0 or maybe Conquest-lite as it moves away from being a guild activity.

Seems to be more of a "Oh crap we forgot we were an MMO! please don't leave..." scramble.

This is one of the top 10 and maybe even 5 mmo's on the market. To say otherwise is just silly and wrong.

tor removed the mmo aspect awhile ago where this is coming from is beyond me lol. The raiding community and guilds have looooong gone from this game its ben close to 2 years with no new ops anyone playing tor knows its 95% solo play now nice try though

Well, i would love to see a review of those top 5 MMOs on the Market. Cant be that the rating stays the same for so many years. This rating implys like its the best MMO eva for human mankind.

I've played this game since beta --- and have loved it --- but ---- I'll take a serious "wait and see" on this expansion guys, I've been disppointed in the last one -- think I'll see it for free on Youtube before I spend the money for a sub

Bitton has been pimping this game ever since it came out even as it got worse and worse with every iteration. I remember him at a convention being asked to his face whether her got paid or received any benefit either directly or indirectly for backing this awful game. Never did I see until that moment a living representation of the phrase: 'He turned tail and fled'.

raids are the bread and butter of any mmo any idiot noob knows that. Dropping your biggest playerbase for yout smallest playerbase is financially stupid. I dont care about skyrim has nothing to do with tor.

It is story driven, but the story is not even good! They just say that because they only add that dull story about that emo family but zero real content.

Tell that to ESO and FF14. And SWTOR has been out for 5 years now and still going strong.

Can't help but to laugh and smile...Bioware should have stuck to their single player rpgs, which were great. They took this amazing IP and turned it into crap...pathetic, BUT...they can make some amazing cinematics that's for sure.

Well, it is in the sense that if you don't have a sub you have to buy it. They didn't say "it was free". They said it was free with the sub. You might not like the difference but there is a difference.
