Revelation Online News - My.com has posted the big news that the first Revelation Online closed beta test will kick off on Tuesday, October 25th. The first test will be centered around testing systems and features from a more technical standpont and to stress test core infrastructure systems.

    Well i had signed up for this after playing on the chinese server for a few weeks, I stopped on the chinese server as i hadn't a clue what i was doing and just going round killing stuff making no sense of the storyline etc, but also as the trasnslation patch was sketchy at best (thanks google translate) i found even attempting crafting was pointless

    But i can say i did enjoy the game for just kill and fetch, but will be greatly looking forward to the finer mechanics of the game.

    This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

    What do you mean BnS has no gears? You have a weapon and 3 accessories, then 8 pieces of Soulshield for armor. A crap ton of costume on top of that.

    Back on Revelation Online, glad I finally got a key from the last giveaway. 2 weeks is way too long for a closed beta I think, kinda strange. Unless they launch it right after this!

    That announcemnt of a possible announcemnt from mmorpg is cringe-worthy though.

    It could be that a publisher actually gives a damn about actually testing their games features for once which would require people to play the game to late game.

    It's not Wuxia. It's Xianxia or Chinese Fantasy like Perfect World and Jade Dynasty.

    Gear is a make-or-break issue? Fascinating what motivates different people (or not). I don't care at all about gear.

    Played the CN version briefly just to get some idea of what the combat was like. As long as you don't mind the anime style graphics the game is pretty good. It has a lot of depth to it that I couldn't really get into on the CN version even with the google translate english patch. I'm cautiously optimistic that they will have learned from the massive failures other eastern games have made in recent years. I hope they don't "localize" the game to the point where they break game mechanics.

    Since it's F2P there is always the question of how much of a problem bots and gold sellers will be. The pay to win discussion will certainly be another concern. The game has been doing well in China so hopefully they do this right and it has a future in the west.

    I think I'm gonna go with Swordmage first since I kind of want to save Occulist for later and try not to burn out before obt.

    My only problem with the game is the underwater combat animation. There is none. I would to see the underwater combat something like archeage.
