I would love to play a single player RPG in the Warcraft universe. Imagine a KOTOR style warcraft RPG. I would buy that day 1 regardless of what timeline they choose to be the main focus. Extra brownie points if it takes place during the events of WC3 :-)
I think that would be awesome, sadly I'm guessing Blizzard is never going to make this since the MMO still lives and probably never allow anyone else the rights to make it.
I would like to see one with the tactical party combat of DA:O along with tweaked crafting and filled with thousands of NPCs along the veins of a GTA, Elder Scrolls, or Assasin's Creed to fill up the cities and towns to take the place of the usual player riff raff dancing on mailboxes in their skivvies.
I'm actually surprised they haven't yet, to be honest. So much content that it could be enough to fill 10 games, easily. Would love to see something that's well-written and centered on the Warcraft universe.
Would Blizzard make Warcraft as single player RPG? I guess no.
Deploy Warcraft franchise as a new title will requires another additional resources apart from what they already have for WoW development. I guess Blizzard will see this action simply as "taking risk," which they shouldn't do that, not when their main product still makes tons of money.

Warcraft makes for an awesome single player(with and without coop) RPG, fighting game, action adventure(hack and slash) game.
I would buy any of those any day if Blizzard wants more of my money. Just make sure the RPG or the hack and slash game is in glorious third person. We have Diablo and HotS already in top down view.
They could do it along the lines of Skyrim, or they could just enlist FromSoftware to do their souls magic on the Warcraft IP... *drools*. Dreaming is free.
For me at least, the Warcraft universe is played out despite the great lore it has behind it. Starcraft, on the other hand, I would love to see continued as an RPG. I envision a Mass Effect style RPG hours long with an open universe to explore and hours and hours of story. Too bad Blizzard has never reeally done traditional RPGs. They have always had the talent and resources to make great games. They could have rivaled Bioware in the story RPG department.
In theory, yes. The warcraft universe has some interesting places and characters and I'm all for having new RPGs.
However, it's Blizzard and I've yet to enjoy any games they've made (not that I've played that many). The RTSs I've played always seemed lacking, WoW felt childish and Diablo just looked and played like spammy crap. I know many other people (obviously) love Blizzards products so they're obviously doing something right, I just can't get on with them personally.
Also, orcs...they're my favourite fantasy race but nobody seems to get them right. Warhammer pretty much got them right, certainly looks wise, but then they started voicing orcs in games and turned them into crap. Warcrafts orcs don't feel right to me either.

So the 'world' and lore of the Warcraft universe seems to lend itself well for all sorts of games beyond the MMO genre and the RTS genre (Warcraft 4 can happen anytime Blizzard) I would be very interested in playing a single player (even with added Co-Op) action adventure RPG game within Azeroth. What do you guys think? If not is there another MMO that you think would make for a better single player RPG? (LotR comes to mind)
I am guessing you want 'Witcher 3' like game with Warcraft SKIN and LORE?

and there are many who already play Wow like a single player game , and its perfectly feasible , even queing DF , most others dont say a word , its like a bunch of mute NPCs anyhow ...
Aside from that ESo would make a great single player game .... ohh wait

Missed this part of the OP!
Warhammer This year we finally got a warhammer strategy game in the form of Total War, but I'm still waiting on a warhammer RPG. I don't really care if it is normal warhammer or 40k, either work for me.
It would naturally focus on combat, but there are so many races, so many cool places to visit, so many styles to fighting that it could be a truly great experience. WAR had some great locations to visit, I particularly enjoyed the Prague pvp lake and most of the greenskin vs dwarf zones.
Star Wars SWG was such a long time ago and SW:TOR sucks. I'd love to have a proper Star Wars RPG. Most games focus on action adventure style gameplay (jedi knights / academies, force unleashed etc) and the two KOTOR games were quite limited, fairly linear and too focused on story. It would be nice to have the action-style combat of, say, jedi academy, but set in a massive open world like skyrim (or better, 20 open worlds :P)

If I might to add some lines:
Why Blizzard should make a RPG based on Warcraft as a one-time purchase based game, when they can milk their potential customers with subcscription-based game? From Blizzard's perspective (if I might to speculate), I failed to see reasoning behind Warcraft as single player RPG demand.
And what should Warcraft fanboys do when they want to see continuation of Warcraft lore? Of course they should play WoW with its payment model.

I don't find that the warcraft IP makes for a good singleplayer RPG. The IP is mostly about alliance or horde, its about racial identity and its not a good fit for an involving RPG based on a singleplayer perspective.

Sometimes I wish we had a disagree button
I respectfully disagree.
The problem isn't about lack of interesting stories, its about making a good singleplayer RPG within the stories. You also have the problem that most of the warcraft players have some sort of faction pride, how would you create a singleplayer game that works for both an orc and a human without creating two completely different stories?
I have far more interest in Warcraft 4 instead of a wow singleplayer rpg. There are far better IP's that fits roleplaying.

I always been of the thought that they could retool many of the assets of WoW and make a great single player/coop RPG.
I'd be in.

Though if set in the Starcraft universe, just maybe.
