Darkfall: Rise of Agon News - Big Picture Games has sent word that it is running free trial promotion from now through October 24th for Darkfall: Rise of Agon. In addition, those who are interested can take advantage of the 40% discount on the game client.

    The video's "moral"? Evil is viral? But anyway the graphics look kinda fun in a old-school way. Have they ever gotten this game to a point it works well and is fun though? The video itself seems to be embracing the griefing... I don't know.

    Problem with this video is that it didn't showcase any form of group play, just solo stuff. If you're wanting to pull people in, you kind of need to showcase what is in store for them. This isn't exactly helping much even though some of it did look interesting.

    I think the big thing being left out of this is that the game is in a beta phase...so whatever progress you make it will eventually be wiped.

    I am guessing these guys need testers at the moment...this is the first I have ever hear of a tree trial during a beta phase lol...or the 40% client could mean they desperately need money.

    I am looking forward to release if either version makes it there....they just asked to much for players to want to engage in the beta, especially with the eventual wipe.

    i am a pvp mmorpg player.. played everything and tried everything on the market..

    Darkfall online is the only game that gives me the thrills regarding pvp and open world pvp

    true player skilled combat.. none mmorpg offers that

    There are plenty where you have to be skillful. But griefing games do  give PvP a bad name.

    Hey guys, Rise of Agon developer here! If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them. In regards to the video we picked as our contest winner we feel it represents the struggle, determination and sweet revenge many will face in RoA.

    It WAS the only one if its kind. More are here and more are coming DF is no longer the only open world loot pvp mmo sorry

    I liked the original Darkfall, but sadly I am just sick of the full loot pvp type of game. As soon as they make this game pvp optional, I am so there. I love exploring, crafting and pve, and pvp when I want to pvp, a pve server for us carebears would rule!

    If you take all the most toxic players from the original DF and let them change the game to make it more fun for them to troll, you have Rise of Agon. Before you think about joining their community I would advise you to look at the forums for five minutes and understand the human filth that you will be gaming with. If you really want to play darkfall try new dawn. The community is a bit less toxic and they are actually working on making the game fun for everyone and not just the 10 best players on the server.

    This couldn't be further from the truth. Our team consists of a diverse selection of players, definitely not the "10 best". Our goals are to expand upon what Darkfall was at it's core and create a true sandbox MMO where players of all kinds can find fun and engaging content to keep them busy for a long time. I normally do not respond to messages such as these, but wanted to chime in and encourage the rest of the MMORPG.com community to judge for themselves.

    What a dumb and biased comment,  they are doing a much better job than aventurine and they must have passion for the game,  you thought they took Darkfall to make millions and moneys and be the next big thing, it will never be.

    Funny when I made a alt character on Darkfall I was beating supposed veterans playing on their main account.

    Just like any game someone who develops his character should be stronger but its not like a lvl 100 in any game 1 shotting a lvl 1, a fresh account can hurt you a lot.

    This game was never made or intended to be the WoW killer or anything like that, just like millions of others this game is not made for you, why comment?

    Sick of the full loot type of game yet current active games offering that can be counted on one hand but what you are looking for is being offered by 100s of other games.  Maybe look at those and not hope a better game is turned into another game we have already played 100s of times.

    And look  how successful they were...Games are more popular when they cater to all types of gamers. I don't see a problem with having a full loot server, but would be nice to have a server like SWG where you can toggle pvp on and off. This game would be perfect for that.

    You are putting words in my mouth I played all the df's including this one I have played with some of the people on the team in the previous games. Its truth and it appears i struck a cord lol.
    Btw just about any 1 man could do a better job than av, i would also add I know they wont make millions....
