"Play the way you want." In an open world PvP full loot game. I don't think so. At least the people who want such a game will be happy, enjoy.

I've decided to check it out. I played very briefly when it was first released. If anyone is also new and going to check it out and needs a friend to play with in-game hit me up. I've got a discord set up already. https://discord.gg/SbNwz
I actually wish them luck with this. Too many games try and do both PvE and PvP end up mediocre at best, And typically the forums are full of whining. So if they can pull off a great Open World PvP game I say more power to them. Granted It's not my cup of tea but gaming ought to be big enough for everyone.
I think the big thing being left out of this is that the game is in a beta phase...so whatever progress you make it will eventually be wiped.
I am guessing these guys need testers at the moment...this is the first I have ever hear of a tree trial during a beta phase lol...or the 40% client could mean they desperately need money.
I am looking forward to release if either version makes it there....they just asked to much for players to want to engage in the beta, especially with the eventual wipe.
I don't understand how it's in beta, it's been in existence for how many years? So badly put together in the first-place they needed to go back and re-build?
I liked DFO for the most part, the two things that bothered me the most was the AFK grind and that the world seemed very unrealized. The game world while looking good was very bland and generic feeling with little to no uniqueness. It felt like a bad backdrop at a play or opera.

We're taking over the development of the game and until we've made significant changes and gotten some experience with the proprietary engine we're operating it as a beta. We have servers running out right now for users to try it out and to get more exposure to the game. BPG is a group of virtually all ex Darkfall players that came together to create this project. Our aim is to take the Darkfall base and add to it the features and polish that it needs to be successful. Add in new content, improve crafting, economy, trading and greatly expand the sandbox content and tools available to players. Modernising the game with higher resolution graphics is as well a long term goal.
To everyone whose on the fence let me just say this:
Use this Trial Period and give it a shot. As someone who was a fan of he core of DF: Unholy Wars but hated the endless grind, Rise of Agon is much more enjoyable for me.
By yourself the game is fun, but with a couple of friends it becomes a grand adventure with endless possibilities.
I didnt get the chance to stream the game during their last run but im going to be streaming this trial for sure.
Again its a free trial, you literally have nothing to lose by playing, and its WAY different than any other MMO you will find on the current market and the dev team is very serious about its progress and being very transparent. Give ROA a shot!
Hey guys, Rise of Agon developer here! If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them. In regards to the video we picked as our contest winner we feel it represents the struggle, determination and sweet revenge many will face in RoA.
Thanks for the laugh, humor is always good for the soul
The Rise of Argon video was 1000% better. Your idea of showcasing your game lacks.
Oh look, the repeating cycle of high levels preying on low levels. So much fun...../sarcasm.
Funny when I made a alt character on Darkfall I was beating supposed veterans playing on their main account.
Just like any game someone who develops his character should be stronger but its not like a lvl 100 in any game 1 shotting a lvl 1, a fresh account can hurt you a lot.
This game was never made or intended to be the WoW killer or anything like that, just like millions of others this game is not made for you, why comment?
An article posted on the front page makes it open to discussion, whether you like that sort of game or not. I find it amusing that so many gamers love the idea of pounding on those so much less powerful than themselves instead of proving their worth by attacking those of similar or greater power. One of the biggest reason I don't play open world pvp games is due to the dregs of humanity that inhabit them. Sportsmanship is a term that is never mentioned in gaming anymore. It's all about finding advantage and crowing about it.
