If I was making $300,000 a year, I would definitely buy one of these, even though I already have a powerful desktop that can handle all games. It's convenient to have a thin laptop that can play all games on max settings.

There is a market for this, a lot larger than that tax bracket as well.

I have purchased three gaming laptops in the past ten years and all of them because, during that time, I was traveling about 50% of every year. There's no way I'm gonna spend three weeks stuck in a hotel room in Barstow California without a gaming machine.
On the other hand, I also spent about half what these cost on my laptops and they were very good for the money. Personally, I prefer Sager laptops. Solid gaming machines with a reasonable price point. Swap out that HDD with a 500GB Samsung SSD from Amazon/Newegg and keep rolling.
