After playing the demo it basically feels like Final Fantasy meets Pokemon, with deeper mechanics. Assuming it doesn't get repetitive (early battles are pretty slow), and the mechanics are actually capitalised on (which, from the single boss battle, they do appear to be), I can see this being my go to JPG lite for quite a while. It also feels right at home on Vita.

A game with the characters designed around the look of toy, merchandising is the Final Fantasy of the designers.

Every simpler graphics, ever more childlike themes, is this what gaming is meant to be about?

Wait until XV next month if you want more adult themes.

My interest in FF games has decreased a lot in the last years.
I admit though I am currently heavily addicted to Mobius FF and they are using the mobile game to advertise games like this.

So while I agree that it's kind of cheap I also like that they are mixing their worlds like this.

Because the site decided to cover more than just MMO news 2 years ago.

Your post was neither useful or needed. Grak knows that I specifically look for this kind of stuff on here. This post happened to be buried when I was looking for it (and Tweeted looking for it). Frankly the "MMO" scene has gotten stale and any fun RPG is a good diversion.

Indeed, always been a FF fan, let us hope we can always rely on them for games for those of us who's age has two figures. :)

Yeah you do come across as a reasonable adult when you passively attack people who don't bitch about this art style.

Doesn't he look adorable with that sword that is bigger than himself. I love it.

On Topic: I got this yesterday after trying the Demo. Between the childish aspects of this and the more adult XV coming out in December it strikes a nice balance for me.

Bartoni's Law definition: As an Internet discussion grows volatile, the probability of a comparison involving Donald Trump approaches 1.

Loved the demo but on the fence of dropping the 55 dollars to buy it. Maybe I'll look up more reviews when I'm bored at work tonight lol

Sorry but did you just call everyone who likes games like this children? If we are going to play the ignorance game i'll just say you play video games too.

As for the game itself, regardless of its good or not, i don't feel like paying $60 when FFXV and FFVII Remake are on the horizon. IMO $40 would have been more reasonable, but thats just me. I feel the same about Dragon Quest Builders.

I think the graphics are designed for children, that does not mean only children will play it. I know a guy who collects toys with those funny big heads, I am clueless as to why, but each to their own. To me this is just like all the LEGO games, just don't see the appeal and yet I know some very intelligent adults who play them. If you think that's throwing stones when I am in a glass house so be it. :)

FFXV etc looking good, and you can only applaud a MMO that holds to AAA production values and pulls it off, a sign it still can be done.

i dont understand the whole "its too much" thing. people used to spend $50 a game for nintendo games back in the day. no demos. no youtube videos to watch first. why would people expect to pay less than $60 for any game? i bought it and its amazingly good and has a long story and side missions. its actually very complex. its not a kids game
