Daum Games Censorship...

I just posted a thread on their forums about how "Kakao Games" is responsible for a recent exploit which I believe was patched which involved "Digging" and I am rather pissed at Daum Games for trying to censorship and cover up stuff...

Daum Games, and Kakao games basically allowed people to DIG in the game the problem is that a lot of players were using in game methods to dig up items by having their inventory full except for the items they wanted to acquire meaning that they would lose no energy and could do this all night and all day...

Now here is the problem, Kakao games is responsible for releasing this and from what I am told its been around for many months and yes it has been damaging to the economy, yet I am just hearing about this a few days ago, and the developers are the ones who failed to properly test the game before releasing, or make it simply charge energy regardless of a users inventory being full...

Keep in mind that having a full inventory is part of the game, its not cheating in any way, and some players who got banned not all, may have had no knowledge that this was an exploit, as personally I consider an exploit for example dragging a boss or monster to a specific area in a game where it cant hit you and killing it to gain high amounts of experience... Either way obviously some players may have had no knowledge of the exploit and got banned by Daum Games, and what is even worse is Daum themselves trying to (Shut Down Topics) and censorship them rather than reply, and lock or anything it proves that there is a valid point.

Like I have no doubt a lot of people intentionally abused this, but I am rather really pissed off at Daum for Removing topic or topics, and instantly banning everyone even those who may not have fully known it wasn't legal without any warning.


12.1.4. Use of Exploits


The User shall immediately report any process or action(s) which, when performed in the Game, allow the User to play the Game in a way it was no intended to be played by game design (hereinafter, an “Exploit”).


The User shall never attempt to reproduce an Exploit, except for the purpose of providing the reproduction steps to customer support of Kakao Games Europe.


Any benefit acquired from the direct or indirect action of Exploiting shall be reversed if deemed necessary by Kakao Games Europe.


Not really that descriptive right, no users to my knowledge even myself who never took part in this exploit having no knowledge of this in the first place got a warning to stop, instead this happened from what I understand for 3 months or longer, undetected, and Daum just now acknowledges this...

In no way am I saying any type of Intentional Exploiting, or blaming the developers is right because it isn't but clearly this bug which perhaps not everyone knew was such has been in the game for awhile until being patched, and Daum never acknowledged it only perm banned a bunch of players who may or may not have know about it (How the heck am I as a player supposed to know what is intended game-play or not with a constantly updating game.)  

. is it not their responsibility to test and code the game properly?

. Is it not their responsibility to at least warn players who might not be aware its an exploit first before just issuing a perm-ban?

I know I haven't been effected by this and not all are innocent, but I am rather just upset with the Daum Games censorship, and their actions in this matter of banning a bunch of people forever from a game for this I would have expected more from a game company...

Like in no way do I support intentional exploiting or cheating, but they have failed to...

. Keep the bug / exploit from being there in the first place.
. Do the proper testing to prevent the bug from being there basically.
. The development team should have noticed this possible bug or exploit and fixed with a few lines of code.
. They should have warned players on the forums and launcher about it abusing it would result in bans.
. They should have have tried to remove topics and censorship but rather acknowledge the problems.

    It's not a public forum, it's their site.  They have the right to moderate as they see fit.  Also, most companies don't like you mentioning things like that, especially with the specific name.  That just tells others where to go to get the exploits.  You send that to them in private.

    The digging exploit just for confirmation on MMORPG, and their service was patched it can't be done anymore.

    And thanks I understand they have moderation rights just like I have the rights to Troll, Grief people, or use a VPN until they get a court order to keep me off their service but besides the point...

    The problem being though in my eyes is that Daum is becoming another company like Trion with Arche Age deleting posts, not warning a user because obviously I did nothing wrong, and hiding the facts, I am not saying they don't have that right as Moderators obviously they do, but I am saying this is the type of reputation that shows what type of company they are when they do such.

    And obviously they don't like me mentioning the fact that their developers screwed up on the game coding which enabled players to be able to take advantage of something they shouldn't have been able to do in the game, obviously that is something that should have been detected and fixed long ago but never was until recently, and the game company simply wants to throw a bandage on it "Delete the posts" that say this without responding, and Ban the exploiters calling it an exploit to the public, until the Next big mistake they make...

    I don't see this as right even though they have the right to do whatever they want to do players should be made aware of this company's actions.

    I have never, in all the years of playing mmo's known a company to allow such a post. They ALL delete them.

    It's not about covering things up so much as not wanting exploits to be advertised.

    I think someone took advantage of something when they clearly should have known better, and now try to pull the "innocent" card or lay off the blame, "hey, I wouldn't have exploited if the devs hadn't left the hole in the game"

    Devs do try to downplay cheats and exploits and clearly it is within their rights on the official forums.  Fortunately we have open sites like this one to bring forth our concerns, valid or otherwise.

    Yep I understand developers try to downplay the exploits it really wasn't an exploit and I posted after they fixed the exploit by disabling the ability to do it in game until they patch it so not sure why they would delete it and try to cover up that it really wasn't a exploit anyways just a developer that made a mistake within the line of coding, and not testing the game properly before releasing the digging patch...

    Like I understand cheating is wrong, but developers who do such things also need to take responsibility for doing such Like I understand it was an accident likely but like be "we are sorry for this we overlooked the fact it wouldn't charge energy every time, now it will charge -1 energy every time you try to dig regardless of inventory being full...

    Its more of a bug that needs squishing.

    IMO they just removed it because they didn't want to actually hear the argument that the developers who did this actually put this in there themselves rather than it being a bunch of cheaters exploitng, Sure people took advantage and shouldn't have but still some might have not known although its unlikely that there is a lot of cases like this it is possible.

    Kakao has a history of deleting critical posts and banning users from the forums that are critical (and also doing the same on reddit during the conversion to p2w).

    Yup, when finding an exploit, you report it to the games developers with details of how you came across it etc. You don't post a 'how to' on the forums so that everyone and their monkey can use it.

    Not a single MMO out there where such a post would not get stomped on, fast.

    Posting an exploit on the forums is not the right way to do it. Complaining about the post being removed like it was censorship is making an issue where none exist.

    Game still has quite a few players, even with all the AFK players, on my server there's always people running around everywhere, always people grinding mobs in every channel in most zones, always pvp happening. Don't know what you are basing that off of.

    This game died awhile ago because of the dishonest and misleading publisher running it. It's yet another example of a good game ruined by piss poor management. Kakao is not really a gaming company, they are more concerned with cell phone chat aps and hair salons so obviously the people making the business decisions don't really understand or give a damn about the BDO community. If nothing else, I hope Archeage and BDO serve as a lesson on what not to do for all these other eastern games looking to publish in the west.
