I have around 137 mods and some sets I no longer use like the Jedi mods. I'm still surprised it runs so well with the old and new mods I've added over the years. I wonder if I can run both?
What do you mean by "run both"?

Again - for PC users there is zero purpose to get this if you are running mods.
Most people "got it" for free.
It should also be noted many of these graphical mods come with a significant hit to performance on mid to lower range systems. The special edition runs rather well on my older system, most ENBs do not. Same with mods that go too crazy with shaders, lighting etc...
Anyway, the SE for PC is nothing more than a boon at the present for those who want it... this is geared more toward PS4 and XboxOne right now.
That said: I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the main mod platform in the near future. 64 bit architecture being a big reason behind that. Not to mention a prettier base to start out with.

By the way New Remaster loads slower than my old Modded Skyrim very weird
Probably due to the new graphical options, I'd try playing around with the advanced graphical settings on the launcher, there's a bit more to tweak now to get a good balance.

I guess all these people posting screen shots of the heavily modded PC version forgot that the main user that posted the "very modded realistic appearance" mods noted he had to cap his mods before his PC turned into a molten metal puddle. Getting Skyrim to look that good without any sacrifice to performance takes a rig that's on the higher end. Getting Skyrim SE at least ups it to 64 bit, as others have said, and for some, makes it viably beautiful without playing the game of 'can my computer handle this.'
Bad news:
"ENBSeries creator
I have bad news. Game is very similar to Fallout 4, this means i need to patch each shader manually (and game have 8000+) for every changes of per object data. The mod can't be similar to original Skyrim ENB by amount of features, it's too much hand work which is done automatically with shader recompiler in old versions (i'm using algorithms for detecting similarity in code and adaptively modify).
Can't say for sure, this depends from popularity of this version for users, i'm pessimistic now about modding future of it. In general, same features as current Fallout 4 version have now. Maybe arameters for fire and particles. Better forget about subsurface scattering, it's under big doubt (btw, game have some buggy character lighting which changes by angle of camera). Uncertain about IBL, detailed shadows, clouds shadows - there rather not than yes."
It will take years to get SSE to what Skyrim Mod community reached not to mention SSE bugs shadow glitch and crap...HD texture clipping . And other great mods that were discontinued ...
we might see only top modes transferred and lot of small but great one left behind ...
There is only one thing for PC master race in SSE 64 bit engine and that idk how good is implemented . As I remember Such kind of implementation is often harder to implement than start from scratch so. yeah...
SSE is mostly for console players
and low end PC users
I managed to make old Skyrim to run crash bug free with almost 300 mods with stable 40 FPS.
And since I got an SSD the load problem dropped to 5 10 sec per load screen from 1 5 min . Old 32 bit Skyrim run quite fine ....
And worst of all even the ENB dev. isn't very happy about SEE but what SSE will be without ENB??
SSE is not even worth to Pirate at this point . Enjoy your SSE console plebs .
Yes if modding community will continue to work on SSE it will become better in 1 2 years bug free but 1 2 years more will Skyrim be any more actual ? Dark And light Chronicles Dual Universe and many other new amazing game will come out even
New mounted blade that is freaking awesome ...
I'm going to replay it for sure and not enable the DLC until I get to the point where I might have been on release. I hope I can still disable the DLC? I found I rushed into the DLC and then felt too epic for the main game
Again - for PC users there is zero purpose to get this if you are running mods.
and here is the PS4. What's your point?
ps4 skyrim has motorcycles?
my point was as clear as day - old modded modded skyrim looks better than base new skyrim.
obviously with mods the 64bit will look better as well
i was clearly talking about PC - not sure what relevance that PS4 screenshot has
My point seemed pretty clear. Even the creator of the mod from your shots (or his) stated the performance hit was too much for the vast majority of gamers. With a 64-bit client and an updated script extender, memory management along with texture compression, A.I. and Pathing etc will be vastly superior to older Skyrim even modded. So again, there is a purpose for a PC gamer to run the new client.
If you have good RIG stay on Old Skyrim
If your on shit RIG get SSE in hope one day it will look as good as Old Skyrim which I doubt as many mods were discontinued and ENB possible too ....so All SSE might end up with Fancy reshade Meh
Yeah I'm gonna call BS on those SS being Vanilla SSE. I need names of Mods please.
These are with .esp graphic mods. Those mods work just fine in the SE version of Skyrim. Not sure why people think the new version does not have mod support. It does. As modders, we are just working on .bsa mods as those are not compatible.
I'm not a console peasant, I know how to mod. I currently have 28 active mods and 41 active plugins going but none of them are graphics mods because I felt that it looked pretty good already. Those SS made me think again.
So could you please tell me what specific mods those are?

It's helpful if you want to play both Vanilla and mods like Enderal (which is far more impressive than any graphical mod) since you have two different installs, no need to waste space or time for back-ups.
That's why i am using it anyway.
By the way, ENB's and graphical mods lack full optimization, that's why you need a high end rig to run them, my PC works great for games like The Witcher 3 as an example, because it's optimized professionally. it has little to do with being a "shit PC".. It's amateur optimization that is the issue.
as for this "1 2 years more will Skyrim be any more actual ? Dark And light Chronicles Dual Universe and many other new amazing game will come out even New mounted blade that is freaking awesome ..."
I still play Morrowind and Oblivion, why would I not be interested in Skyrim a year from now?

2 completely different landscapes. Please include a modded and new edition of the SAME landscape under the SAME circumstances.
