The "screenshots", if that's even what they are, are concept art or perhaps a loading screen, but nothing that looks like it could plausibly be actual gameplay. The game's web site isn't much better, as the "tutorials" are basically a series of press releases.
In the post's favor, it does read like it was written by someone fluent in English, which is more than can be said for some ads. And the concept art is at least related to the game, rather than relying on gratuitous sex appeal that has nothing to do with the game. But those are small things, and only enough to raise this sponsored post's rating to a 3/10.
Do I approve of mmorpg.com taking the money for such a sponsored post? Of course; the site needs money, sponsored posts are harmless, and this isn't exactly Scarlet Blade. But I don't understand what sort of return the publisher hopes to get out of it, and can't imagine that "play our game first and find out what it's like later" is an attractive model for very many gamers.
I appreciate them paying mmorpg.com, so Bill can get some better writers
But as a player I must warn that this is a terrible P2W, cell phone port game, and pretty bad too...
Oh, I believe the publisher does get something out of it.
What we don't understand is how much the return are vs how much they really spent. If we can figure these, we can come to conclusion whether their ads is effective or not.
When you don't want the truth, you will make up your own truth.
This is what the site has been crying about "we don't like adblockers"because we deliver CONTENT,FREE content.Advertising is NOT CONTENT and especially not free.
This site has been disrespecting users big time, pointing fingers at those with adblockers but still abusing and disrespecting those who do not. This site seems to want to run TONS of cookies/trackers,run adverts disguised as articles or content and cover half the pages with adverts/banners etc etc.
Here is a question....WHERE is the gaming CONTENT?
You go to ANY site on the internet that runs content any type of content, you do not see OTHER stuff disguised as that content.I goto NHL.com i see NHL hockey games,i don't see adverts disguised as hockey games "adverts are on the sides away from content",same for UFC.com same thing if i got to a music site or movies ,i don't get OTHER as the MAIN page of content.
Also a rule here>>>>SPAM,,,usually we see a new money spender and there is a wave of SPAM articles/reviews/overviews/play through's/then banners and ads on the pages as well, that would be considered SPAM because people don't come to websites to get drilled with advertising or ENDORSEMENTS,that would be called spam. When we get "undesirable" stuff in our email, guess what it is called, where it goes??Into the SPAM folder,it is called SPAM for a reason.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Some of those features/articles are [SPONSORED] as well, even if they aren't tagged as such.
The rest is mostly forum activity.
I would really like to see more official stuff that is not somewhat tied to the PR department of a publisher.
What about more live content? The site is being worked on all the time, why is there no live chat or a shoutbox?
And i would so like to see more streaming from the official staff members!
The majority of these broadcasters that stream for this site (however that works) are horrible to watch with their attitudes and such or some of them only stream every once in every few month.
I don't know them and they don't know you or me, they don't take part in this site's community things...so i have no idea what their business is being listed under "mmorpg.com live stream" while other veteran members who also do live streams are not.
Everyone from the staff seems to be gaming alot, so why not put on an ironed shirt, fire up the cam and stream more often?
Sort of thing i would expect Totalbiscuit to say on the cooptional podcast when they do end of show game reviews
