I don't like this. Instead of making a good NEW Diablo.. they've given in and just taken the loser's approach. The fact they have to go back in time doesn't bode well for the series future.

"Yearly" events suggest we won't be seeing a new game for a long long time....

They aren't being forward about the price of that Necromancer either.. which suggests it won't be a good deal. Should be about $10 max.. it'll probably be $14.99 or $20. I am looking forward to playing the class though.

Any extra Diablo is a good thing I suppose.. but they could have done better.

It's better than a mobile game announcement, I guess.

Diablo 3's big problem is a lack of content longevity. If a Diablo 1 remake being surgically attached to the game will alleviate that, then so be it.

No one talk about Necromancer is a DLC character ?? ($_$')

"yearly" events doesn't suggest anything. You are just reading too much into it. They are supporting Diablo 3. There's nothing stopping them from developing Diablo 4 and releasing content updates for Diablo 3.

You are one of those grumpy people aren't you? Always looking at the bad side of things?

Lack of content is a problem for any ARPG, so this is a genre problem IMO. I am yet to play an ARPG where you dont feel a lack of content at end game.

Because ENDgame is a silly concept to begin with. And every thing that tries to prolong its natural life expectancy ends up the same: as a bloated abomination of say Nurgle. Games should've a well defined end and a mode named "play for fun"(Rifts etc) that is fun, but ultimately a secondary objective(meaning completely optional). Endgame is silly, make games end actually.

I completely agree. It's been a while since I've been to these forums but this whole concept of endgame is purely an MMORPG thing that I don't see in other genres. It's artificially extending the life of a game with meaningless, boring and repetitive content. There is no need for that. Just focust on making the game fun. But yeah Kano is right, lack of content is a problem for ARPG as they are over quite quickly. But then again MMORPGs with their design drawing so heavily from ARPGs also suffers from a similar problem. Only difference is MMORPGs force you to spend 10 times longer to level up and do meaningless fetch tasks.

My only issue is that the D1 portion is only a limited time event?  I hope they reconsider that.

Make the D1 campaign available all the time and graphic filter/8-directional moves as an option - i'll be happy.

I was hoping for a WASD support announcement for PC. I guess i'll have to buy the PS4 version. /sigh

This is true. I'll admit that even my preferred ARPG (Marvel Heroes) is relatively content-lite. But I feel that the endgame raids at least give it some edge over Diablo 3's group content.

Here's hoping that Lineage Eternal and Lost Ark have a greater scope of content. This genre could use some stiff competition.

The learning skills from books is still a fun memory for me about Diablo. That is only thing in that whole list that made me smile.

That was the saddest excuse for an announcement. I laughed cause THIS is the best we can expect from a company that nets revenue in the 5 billion dollar mark. Blizz is such a disappointing piece of shit
