Community is key. Game hopping is a downward spiral in MMORPGs... The more you jump around, the less invested in the community of each game, which leads to less connection with the game, which leads to more game hopping. These games shine when played with others, but are kinda sucky as solo experiences in long bursts. They always have been.

I don't game hop as much these days, though I do try other titles now and again just out of curiosity, because I realise that people are as important as anything else to the enjoyment in MMORPGs. There are a ton of games better suited to extended solo play, after all.

Jumping into a bunch of games for 1-3 hours a week just to solo around the world before moving to the next game... The thought makes me shudder. I would just rather play Civ or whatever.

The lure of guilds have faded for me because of that. I'm busy in rl my game time is valuable being a slave to one game and or one guild is out weighed by being able to come and go as I please. I enjoyed many years of Battlefield, Mech Warrior clans and my many WoW guilds but it was extremely time consuming, sometimes viral.

Games run their course people move on, game friends fleeting. LFG, soloing or grabbing a rl friend now and then my game time feels much more entertaining if that makes any sense.

Gratz, you have become a game hopper, chasing the thing that you once loved because your RL no longer allows how you used to play when you fell in love with this genre.

I've actually found solace in Mobile games now. They are just as shallow as MMOs, so I'm really not losing out on anything. ESO's combat is atrocious. I've tried multiple times to force myself to like it.

I may try BDO one day. But I'm afraid its just like Archeage.

Don't go to BDO you'll never catch up to the top players for months of grinding hardcore ignoring all other aspects of the game except your grind spot.

Fired up ESO again for the Orsinium event. Wandered around a bit, did some quests. Was having a good time, I wondered why I stopped playing.

Then I got into a random Heroic Dungeon group. They complained that my DPS was too low after the first boss and kicked me from the group.

Oh, yeah, thats why I stopped playing. The horrible community.

    Uninstalled for good this time.
High end random dungeons are the same in all games these days: elitist speed runs with a lot of douchebaggery and finger pointing. It's always what I think of whenever PVErs start talking about toxic PVPers... say what?

It's no different in ESO. You don't have to run the dungeons in veteran mode but if you do, you're much better off running them in a guild group with people that will explain to you what you should be doing better instead of kicking you.

There are literally no longer terms goals in ESO AT ALL. It is a solo questing game with poor balance and terrible end-game.

I have just returned to Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) after a couple of years hiatus. I remember one of the reasons why I stopped playing the first time was the quest progression but this time I must say I am having a very good time. I am not a terribly social player and much prefer setting out exploring solo and really appreciate the solo dungeons and game content. I have always loved the ESO character creations. I am a two handed warrior who wears heavy armor but also does magic with enchanting and alchemy on the side. This freedom to create your character the way you want to is a big draw for the game. Previous to getting back to ESO I was a staunch World of Warcraft player but the last two expansions have taken the game in a direction I have absolutely know interest in and I finally realized the game was not for me. So far the only thing I wish ESO would do better is their graphics. I would love to see it morph into the graphics like Skyrim has.

When i realized i had spent hundreds of dollars ''supporting'' the game and they gave nothing i return i started questioning what where they giving us loyal paying costumers and the answer was nothing. They said multiple times that motifs would have a counter part in game every time but now its not like that anymore there are motifs that can only be attain by pulling out your wallet and becoming a credit card warrior, i didn't mind the mounts or costumes or consumables but that crossed the line.

Then we have the blind fanbois defending everything they do with the excuse of "It just a cosmetic" or "You don't have to play it" even tough as someone who spent 300$+ dollars in this game i should expect better than this scam, cosmetics in a game are really important especially when it comes to armor because that is something your character uses from lvl 1 and restricting part of that armor to the mighty dollar is nothing but a scummy tactic (even tough they promised repeatedly and assured us that they will always be attainable in game before going to the shop and wouldn't be shop exclusive) so i'm done with this pile of poo, i left and i'm never looking back.

It is simple,it is because we get too easily amazed by the NEW game,it always seems fresh and interesting but after a short while it is the same old same old. I can honestly say that my fave game has remained my fave game for 13 years and yes i still play it almost every day or second day.
It is probably because before i was a full time gamer,i knew exactly what i wanted from my games and of they did not do it,i did not play them. Now a days ,every time i see a new game, tons of bandwagon jumpers are all over it,games i wouldn't consider worth my time to even look at ,let alone play them.
Yes i move around from several games but only slightly, like i said,i still play my goto game quite regularly.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I played ESO Beta and had fun. I played ESO launch and didn't have fun... I hated it! I came back for Tamriel Unlimited and fell back in love with ESO. I now play One Tamriel and ESO is now definitely the best MMORPG ever! ZOS continually providing new content and ESO having so much stuff to do has made me addicted to MMORPGs again! The ESO community is awesome! I crave everyday getting on and socializing with my PvE peepz, PvP peepz, Guild peepz, Trader peepz, Zone Chat peepz, Cryodiil peepz and my weird peepz! Elder Scrolls Online is truly, now, the king of ALL MMORPGs!
