    Thanks for the conversion.

I dont see Wildstar hanging around too much longer if it keeps that level of performance up.  Its too bad, it is an ok game, just too much of the same old, same old.

How long will NCSoft keep Wildstar running? They need to start over like Final Fantasy XIV and make it better.
  • KabulozoKabulozo Member RarePosts: 932
It's clear for Nc that they need to make Lineage Eternal successful in the long term, otherwise Lineage 1 will continue carrying them on its back.
  • simsalabim77simsalabim77 Member RarePosts: 1,607
Feel pretty bad for Wildstar. I hope they keep it running for the sake of the players who are enjoying it, but I'll be a bit shocked if it lasts. That's about 880,000 USD.

I wish they wouldnt have done action combat for wildstar.  Just didnt fit with it.  I could have seen myself playing for a long time if they had avoided that and done at least SOME optimizing.

Their Korean roots are strong.  Meanwhile GW2 is not in Korea at all.
Are you onto something or just on something?

See I am of the total opposite opinion. The combat was some of the best I have ever played if not the best for me at least. I just liked the movement , the telegraphs and the aiming of said telegraphs. To me what killed them is going for the hardcore audience at first. That and I believe not everyone got into the IP. I was either too cartoony or just not what some were into at the time. I think if that combat system we used for an existing IP it would be great.

And also korean based games have very different game stores. Lots of pay to win options and paying to do the simplest things, like mailing items. GW2 hasn't gone that route, and hopefully they are paying the bills and never have to.

Its because the developers at GW2 never Listen to its consumers that is why its awful and lost players compared to when I started...

. Limited time items in Cash Shop (Rather than just leaving them.)
    . No Optional Subscription
. No option to create (Instant pvp only chracter like GW1.)
. No point / End Game really
    . Crafting feels pointless
. Having to swap among crafts on single character Its dumb (They might have added cash shop item to fix this.

. Have to pay to re-customize characters every time rather than just for new content pack unlocks.
. No raid / boss timers on world map have to depend on 3rd party UI.

These changes adding more end game and making game more fun and stuff would have kept more players I told them years ago to do this Nope never seen a bit of it in game yet...

As Blade & Soul its unplayable due to (Game Guard) Spyware / Rootkit, and Wild Star failed because characters were too cartoon classes were stupid to even have to begin with over-all a massive failure.

AS for Aion I quit playing (Too Many Hackers, and Cash Shop made me leave because of the whole way they market the game, and do Plastic Surgery tickets I left mainly because of this.) Game Guard is now in the game and I refuse to play anything with (Game Guard.)

I do still have the Lineage 2, and Aion Collectors Edition sitting in my shelf too bad a more reputable company didn't host it.

Actually in terms of numbers, the reality is quite simple, Guild Wars 2 is not in Korea like the other games.  Its missing out on a whole segment of gamers and a large one at that.  The North American report shows GW2 doing very well here and a strength for the company.

What kind of numbers are those? If they are non factional which are typically what even the developer themselves release, then of course have little meaning. They do this to give false misleading numebrs while avoiding an actual lawsuit for doing so.

I cannot copy/paste the financials for whatever reason but i will type the first bit out because it is as i thought it was.You can download any of them yourselves and you will see the same disclosure.

    DISCLAIMER:

The financial results for "insert any time period"have been prepared on an UNAUDITED basis, and may be subject to change  during independent auditing processes.

Please note that NCSOFT will not be responsible for individual investment decisions based on this material.

Soooooooooooo then why post the junk if it carries no factual numbers?Well as i stated, they like to do this to mislead people into thinking things are better than they are,to deceive shareholders/investors all the while escaping the law.You can pretty much bet the numbers are worse, maybe a LOT worse, none of us will ever know the truth.

Not true. Let's say it this way, 'They don't listen to you.' Developers will never make EVERYONE happy. If you make everyone happy, no one will play the game and it is basically impossible to do. There are still people playing GW2 and even GW1, although GW1 is pretty much a solo game.

As others have stated, the Asian markets like Lineage and Aion since NCSoft is basically pushing those games there. China has it's own version of GW2 that Is separate.

I don't care about subs. I feel they are a waste of money, especially if the game gives me nothing more than GW2 already gives me.

They didn't say it was non-factual, they said it was unaudited. This means that there was not an independent auditor who was commissioned to review their results and independently verify that the numbers were accurate. While you're correct that a disclaimer is there to disclaim a company from legal responsibility should the numbers be off due to error, but you can also be assured that it would not stand up in court should someone invest significantly and come to find later that their numbers were intentionally falsified. I'm sure you can bank on their numbers being, at works, +/- 5%. Remember that these numbers are what is delivered to current shareholders, also, so if they were significantly misrepresenting their true numbers, intentionally, all current shareholders would have a legal hay day with them.

However, if you truly believe this, then you should probably get to your basement because the sky is likely falling.

that's unfortunate. Lineage 2 and Aion ara full on Asian/anime mmos(most of that money is coming from asia, not the west) and that type of grinder is what most of the asian market wants. GW2 is a more western designed mmo, but most of the western market is still playing WoW, and the rest hop between too many mmos so they all make less money in the long term.
