Dont give these shit ass scam Chinese companies a single fucking dollar. It you want a good strategy MMO for mobile, just wait a bit for Stronghold Kingdoms to release on mobile. Everything else is just trash.

Sadly all of these 'Download for free' games are nothing more than rehashed flash games that are put on slow progression in order milk you for 'boosts'. If you want some real mobile gaming then fork out a few quid for KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, crashlands or even a few more bucks for Civ revolution 2. Much more fun and will save you a fortune in the long run.

I'm sure the Cash Shop will provide a wide range of "convenience" purchases for those who ...er... "don't have enough time to play" ! :D

Of course, the convenience purchases are REALLY intended for those with both time and money, because they will be the ones who win biggest in the end.

Hard to find decent mobile games, I doubt this is one of them.

So i calmed down and sat down and spent a good 20 hours playing. Im now in the top 10 in fame on the server so I have a good grasp of what this game does. Its attempting to be Stronghold kingdoms + summoners war at the same time. It has the map and resource element, but its done very cheaply and linearly. SHK depth progression is top-notch. You difeinitely specialize. In this game you research and build everything, you are just time gated from doing so too quickly. The summoner's war aspect is the P2w part. You need 2-5 * heros. 2 being uncommon and 5 star being legendary. You need to pull these cards out of RNG gem boxes. Of course just pulling one is not enough. In order to power them up ( and these power jumps are significant) you need copies of the cards in order to sacrifice them and enhance your one main legendary hero. Next you will need to sacrifice epic/rare heros in order to level up the skills on the hero. Finally, once the hero reaches lvl 5 and 10, you can add new activateble skills they will use in combat. There are basic ones like ( gives army +10 stat), however the really good skills can only be found by sacrificing rare + heros and ripping the skills of of them. Yes there is some customization here that I like. You can make a spirit based Thor, put all points into spirit and give him spirit based skills, or you can decide to make him speed /defense based. The problem is is that even as a brand new game, the pantheon available to RNG from is like 300 gods. Making your .5% chance to pull a legendary meaningless bc chances are you wil never pull THAT legendary again.

All in all. The game has potential to be fun, but the energy pay gates will kill it. The model for these games has become so fucking stupid. You cant PLAY the game unless you pay money for "refills".

IMHO, I have been playing Stronghold Kingdoms for close to 4 years now. It definitely has P2W aspects. No questions. The huge difference is that in SHK you can PLAY the game all you want for free. There are no gates or stamina walls. Sure, you will not level up as quickly and be the baron of all the lands, or make crown prince day 3 or top the leader boards. BUT in SHK everyone is relevant because the carders need the infrastructure to back them up and the voters to keep them in the County and Country seats. The intricacies of leveling, researching , specializing and politicing in SHK is head and shoulders above this rag-tag NetEase Chinese game. The best thing about SHK is that its FINALLY coming to mobile in a few months.
