What do you think of the end game content in coh/cov atm? i reached lvl 40 on my villain and find it very very very lacking. i don't think i can do anymore steal/kill/kidnap/heist missions, lol. i've badge hunted myself to death, hoping issue 7 will bring something new and refreshing to the game that will inspire me to play more. i have yet to see the end game content on the hero side but besides the hami raid it seems there's very little to talk about. a lot of people talk about pvp as being the end game content but imo pvp is something that should take place all the time and not really considered a structured event like a raid. i would like to see more impossible monster raids that drop rare loot and whatever else that might be interesting in game content. also the pvp bases were a good idea and still are but all the vg's/sg's that i've played in don't have them often and some say its hard to get someone to accept a raid. but i don't know much about those. post what you think, flame me if youw ant i really don't care, i've played a ton of mmo's and i'd have to say this game has the worst end game content of all of them. but, on a side note i do love the diversity in the game and the players are not cookie cutter templates that you are forced into like some. and the fun factor is always great, i'm not complaining i just see an area where they can improve on to help up high lvl players stay interested.

The game isnt only missing end game content, the game is repetitive from the first minute on.
It doesnt matter if you are level 2 or level 20, your missions will always adjust to it.
So it isnt really a difference if i kill a Capo level 5 (while im 4 or 5) or a level 25 while i am 24 or 25, its always the same.
The maps are repetitive, the missions are repetitive and thats it.
You might wanna try PvP in BB, but besides this, there not much left.
Dont get me wrong, i just tried it and found the grinding boredom and lacking content that obviously that i stopped playing after 2 weeks.
No loot, no crafting, no housing (beside superbases), no economy, nothing really in the game besides "L5 brute lft" to hit mob over and over and over and over and over and over ...... /YAWN
Well, the game has a good community, that is nice - but to keep me sticking a bit longer it needs more then just hitting the same foe over and over, no matter what level i am.

I find myself in same boat. I played up a hero to 50 and had a blast seeing it all once. Lots of cool missions and special task forces to do, event the respec mission is quite good. You get to save statesman at the end mission and he might even hang out with you and kick some butt, but it is a bit of a let down. It is repetative but you play COH to fight and have fast action not sit around crafting. But after 50 I benched that Hero and played alts till about 30 in 2 other Archetypes then I was pretty much ready to quit and then Cov came out.
Villains was great at first but my new character has been 40 for over a month and my alt is 20 and I am just waiting for the update. If you are looking for that rare loot type game COV just is not it. I think that is an appealing feature of the game - no bitching about drops, no ninja looting, does not really waste your time with crafting.
But seems like if you play a game that is all about fighting and looking cool with your costume and new powers it will get old and you will want more. So like many before me it is time to look for a new game but you get spoiled by the great character creation and combat system in CoH/CoV.
So you go try DAoC and see the loot and stat based characters are cool but your character is still not all that unique looking and the game is pretty dated looking. Not a bad game but you wonder if you should hold out for a newer game, and you better want to do PVP for end game. Or you try Everquest 2 and have a few faces to pick from and a couple hair styles then you realize it does not matter because you end up wearing the same armor as everyone else anyway with the same type powers as the tank/ wizard next to you. Or maybe you load up SWG and try that for about an hour before you realize the game is just not finished and the combat is not well thought out. Or maybe you invest in a new game like DDO only to find out it is not really anything like D&D - it is not a terrible game - if you can stand the instancing and have a core group of competant gamers to always hang out with (No end game as of yet).
So it seems with all the choices that are out there you need to weigh the good with the bad. I have not tried WoW yet seems like people really enjoy it for a decent amount of time and burn out after they complete the PvE content. So there may be a perfect game out there for each person but it can be hard to find it.
I wish these games would just come out and be honest and say this is our niche in the industry. We are the PVP king if you dont like it dont bother buying. Or we are the crafting, economy lovers dream game. But instead, of course, they want to appeal to everyone. Only on a message board like this can you get some varried oppinions about the game and try to piece together what the game focus really is.

Question ?
Is there a MMORPG out there where things arent repetitive. Go search for this, take out these folks,go here, go there ect. Even with homes crafting ect. It is all repetitive.
It seems the staying power of any game depends on what the gamer is looking for. What type of games click with the gamer. Just think about it How many folks still do Diablo/II it's not changing any time soon but I know allot of folks that when they get board fall back to that game.
Me I'm a Comic book fan and yes as repetive as CoH/CoV is it does stay true to the comics. Ture the game doesnt touch on the characters mundain lives or what they do for a liveing when not being a super hero. But I'm not intertested in developing cab driveing skills or commerical artices skills. Or them having to put a SIMs like aspect into the game. If I wanted that I'd play the SIM and I dont. In other Games like WoW and DAoC there is a justifiable reason to have them cause not only does the black smithing, tayloring, enchanting ect befit the player it can benifit the other player in the game.
And it's not really fair to compair CoH/CoV to other games that are not of the same super hero type.. Sadly it wold be nice if there were other super hero games to compair it to. Yes there are PC non mmorpg ga,me that can be brought up but they dont have mundain life or hero skills sets either.
But anyway untill Marvel and DC get out what they are gona do .. ie maybe they will have crafting ect.. being a super hero is a repetitive things being any kind of hero is being repetitive.
And yes crafting does help break up the repetiveness as it right now when I play WoW I have been doing more of that than the adventureing repetitive grind.
guess I'm just not that critical on things I have fun with cause well it destroys that fun. And what's the fun in that
Having a different end game is worser than having no end game.
CoH and CoV have a different end game, which revolves around IoP and HOs and quite honestly, it is killing the game.
End Game should be similar to what bring you to that point, but harder. See, the missions for the respec could be a good example of what end game should be heading for...and respec should be designed thinking that peoples undertaking them are in NEEDS of improvements, not ready to undertake challenges.
Silly Stateman.

I think they do now have the goal to pit the super heroe elite agains the super villain elite in Grandville and the winner will determine the look of the zone and some other bonus stuff. That might be PvP worth doing after completing all the PvE content.
But about the repetative stuff, why not raise the level cap instead of jacking around with powers. Why not develope the custom choices for the weapons that are in the game (not crafting but at at least something like picking a hilt and color for a sword, or a choice of rifles) Custom colors for powers would be nice too to further distinguish your higher level character. Create tasks for the upper level heroes to get these accolaid that made you better that you actually want.
There have been a few bones thrown our way but with the release of villains seems all the resources have been lost to that game. I7 will make or break my subscription to the game - if we are gonne be 50 forever with no vehicles, or custome weapons, small affordable hideouts, or whatever cool ideas people have come up with on the forums and we are just gonna kick ass and look good I will try something else for a while.
