Studio Wildcard has sent out a new trailer and information about the new 'TEK' tier content that's coming to ARK: Survival Evolved. In December, the TEK Tier update will allow players to craft sci-fi armor, weapons, structures and gear. TEK saddles will add mounted energy weapons to dinosaurs and special plasma rifles will give players the ability to snipe enemies from afar while a jet pack makes for a hasty retreat.

    I love Ark, I played a ton of it over the summer but not so much in recent months.  I dont know how I feel about this update.  This might be the moment when they 'jumped the shark" with the game.

    Look at that guy running thru wooden houses, not newbie friendly haha

    Checked Ark back last week, some freaking huge bird (quetzal) with a whole building on it, came down, a full armored last tier geared girl (prob guy) jumped off, shaked he head (emote) paralyzed me, and left.

    I thought yes! He didnt cage me, or keep me as a pet in his castle.

    I hope dark and light release soon.

    If you don't like the idea of "dinosaurs with friggin' laserbeams", just play on a Primitive Plus server. Immersion preserved.

    If you support this scumbag company YOU are part of the problem in this industry NOT the solution. The only real and effective voice we have with a lot of companies in this industry is the voice of our wallets sadly. Don't support this kind of scumbaggery and don't sell out your community for some cheesy ass dino crud and lies.

    I will probably buy it when it gets released.
    I understand your preference, but I somehow doubt that Ark will change in any significant way once it's officially "released". Whenever that may be...

    The devs just keep on adding more stuff. More stuff sells more copies, fixing bugs/glitches/exploits doesn't generate anywhere near as much hype as more stuff.

    More stuff means the existing players don't get bored, and that sells more paid DLC.

    Sigh....

    The game is slated to be released early 2017. Most are positing a Jan. or Feb. release. Tek Tier was stated to be one of the last things that was going to be added before official release, and we have that coming in Dec. soooooo, yeah.

    And yes, before you people shout "AHMG MAH IMMERSION!" or "DIS NOT WUT ARK ABOUT HERPDERP", do remember that Tek Tier was announced to be for the game quite awhile ago (1 year+ I believe?). This is not a surprise. It should not COME as a surprise. The dinos are all fake versions of real ones, as in biogenetically engineered (it even states in multiple bios of the animals they aren't the real thing). You have giant alien tech floating in the sky, and you have a high tech holographic interface that beams images into your eyes whenever you look at the implant in your arm.

    Calm down and enjoy the game. And get the hell off the official servers, christ. So tired of hearing about "alpha tribe this and that".

    Yeh, love the unofficials, taming time upped, food downed etc exp upped 10x
