Running on Windows 2000?

EffectEffect Member UncommonPosts: 949

Okay, here's the thing. I broke down and picked up D&D Online. I'm a big fan of the Eberron setting so I kinda couldn't resist even though I told myself I wouldn't touch it. It's the MMORPG withdrawl I'm kinda going through due to my empty free time. :( Anyway I have Windows 2000 on my system, didn't like Windows XP to much (have it on my laptop since it came with it but sister has it and it wouldn't be up to the specs needed to run D&D or other games (no hardware T&L )) and don't have it on my system. Windows 2000 has worked really well or me and a lot of other games (Everquest 2, Dark Age of Camelot, Guild Wars, FFXI, etc over the years).

Can the game install and run on Windows 2000? I remember the annoying trouble of having to trick Age of Empires III (think it was this) to install on my systme due to it being Windows XP only. I'm damn glad it wasn't my own copy (friends and never did end up buying it due to this) or I'd have been pissed. So will it run? Install? If not, back to the store before it's open. Thanks.

ah well, i can't tell you for sure, but i have been in the Beta and the client both installed and run without problems on my windows 2000 system.

I really doubt that the final version will be XP only when the beta wasn't.

They DO NOT support windows 2000, though, that means that even if the game install, they can refuse to give you any technical assistance.
