this game is P2w in many aspects and people should steer very clear of it. a 25$ starter pack only gets you shards for some characters and a low chance of even getting enough shards to unlock one for 10shards(those are starter heroes).

Angry Joe's video on this game says everything that needs to be said. It's this type of shameless display of contempt for customers that makes the mobile market a joke.

Every update they push live does more and more to make the P2W worse and worse. When it first launched it was just mildly pay to win. A few weeks later there is absolutely no way to progress without P2W. You can't play the game for more than 2-3 minutes at a time without paying heaps to do it. They literally want to you log off there game in less than 5 minutes, unless of course you pay a ton. If you want this type of game go with Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. You can absolutely progress in that without P2W, slowly but you can progress quite well, and you can play it more than 5 minutes without being forced to log out.

Have to agree with previous comments, after watching Angry Joes youtube video, and in it he clearly demonstrates what is wrong with this game, it represents the worst p2w aspects of mobile gaming, which already has some pretty bad representatives. 100% avoid on this one.

Yeah, it's become quickly a P2W-fest. Shame really, because I'm betting a lot of mobile gamers don't care and will shell out anyway.

Lately, only mobile games I've been playing are Titan Brawl and Telltale games.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

PVP in these mobile games is 100% P2W no doubt about it.

However I will correct Angry Joe on one thing though, he looked at the price of a 5 star legendary character (basically 10 star legendary) a 5 star legendary character is the highest most time consuming achievement currently in the game, it SHOULD be cost prohibitive. Think WoW vanilla and thunderfury, what price tag would you put on that for a player who just started playing 30 minutes ago? See what I'm saying here?

Meanwhile he ignored the Bane for $1.99.

I agree. Before I add my 2 cents, I'll go ahead and re-iterate how much I hate Angry Joe. So I am biased. However, remember that Angry Joe gets paid to be angry and have angry reviews, so I don't think his reviews are objective at all.

Personally, I've been playing this game for like a week or two now. It's a grinder, make no mistake. However, they do have sales on 5* heroes. For 8000 "shards" or whatever, I can get a full legendary Wonder Woman right now. So for $100 I could get 3, over time, over separate sales. If I wanted to completely forego all of the actual game playing and natural progression.

Now!!! at 8000 shards, I should be able to get a new legendary hero every couple months for free. Also, they give away hero fragments on a monthly basis as login bonuses. So by the end of this month I should have a 4* Harley Quinn. If I make sure I log in every day, then in 2 months I should have all the shards I need to buy a legendary.

That's effectively the MO of these games. He's talking about animations like they even matter. Most of the time people aren't manually fighting anyway. They just click the little button to do it automatically so they don't need to waste their time on playing the actual game. I know I do. It's a game I can log in, get my daily reward and, effectively, finish off all my daily activities in on shitting. It's pretty shallow, but there are few which aren't. At least it doesn't eat my time like some others out there (looking at you summoners war and Iron Maiden!!)

So, the guy criticizing Angry Joe then goes on to defend a game in which a mere three characters can be bought for $100 while on a discount. And then, because said game is clearly so good, makes a point of saying that he puts it on auto-play - because that's how we play good games, right?

I don't think it was so much a defence of the game, as a pointing out how much is wrong with it, like, you have a choice, either pay up $100 or grind it for two or more months, heaven forbid you forget to log in one day! if anything CrazKanuk further emphasises just how bad the game is, after all, who reads all that and on that basis alone even, would think buying into that game would be a good idea? i mean come on, who in their right minds would think its fun to put that much time and effort to get basic items in a game, grinding, not just for a few hours, or days even, but for actual months on end before they get a single character in the game, honestly who does that?
The number of games out there that actually give you something for much less actual money, and don't force you to spend months grinding in order to get a single character, are numerous, so why waste months on a game that probably will be shuttered long before you get anything out of it. :o

It's actually funny that this is the sentiment, because it's, in essence, exactly what MMORPGs do. However, I'd say that these mobile games actually do it to a much lesser degree. As I said, I can quite easily finish what I need to do on a daily basis in 15-20 minutes, where dailies in an MMORPG take me hours. To that end, I'm not sure which provides me with more or less value. Either way, both will, at some point or another, make you question whether there was something more productive you could have been doing with your time and, in most cases, you will undoubtedly be able to answer that question with a resounding "Yes!" :)
