Romeros Aftermath News - After two years in service, Romero's Aftermath will be closing for good with servers going dark on December 24th. Citing that the "economics of the game" made did not make it feasible to continue development, and without any updates in four plus months, the decision was made to close the game for good.

    This game has been a free to play title on steam for a while, with mostly negative to mixed reviews. Tons of bugs and lots of hackers. Stay away immediately.

    You haven't heard of it because it used to be The WarZ, and then Infestation: Survival Stories, and now Romero's Aftermath. They changed the name to try to shake some of the bad press. The company is shady as fuck. Avoid their games like the plague and don't give them a dime. Buying the alpha or whatever before all the bad press was one of my biggest gaming regrets.

    Stay away from Shattered Skies that they are developing now. I did play Aftermath some but when they refused to add vehicles and removed their good big map with base building for a small non base building map they lost a lot of people. They did add a decent anticheat system but when they stopped development on the game the hackers and cheats came back.  Good to see this game going away. I feel sorry for the people that wasted money on it.

    Never heard of it.  I know it's obsvure, but it's an MMO, i would think that i would of seen something on this site.  maybe there should be an 'obscure games highlight' column.  Might find some little gems out there.

    So according to my steam page this game just "released" for the first time ;-) recently.  Knowing it's just WarZ renamed I'm happy to say this is good news.  I normally never wish or hope for a developer to shut down.  But shady developers like this need to disappear.

    Here's the kicker with this scammer company. I had not heard of this game myself until reading this, so I went over to their forums and main site to see what it was about.
    Do you know these scammers told their playerbase they would keep server up until Dec. 22, 2016 and already the servers have been down for two straight days without word from them? Seems these assholes pulled the plug early on their poor playerbase!
    NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!
    Free Reign Entertainment ( Maybe they change company names like they did their games name though so beware! )

    Wait, this is War Z?  I heard about this shitshow a few years back, but then thought it died.  I had no clue it had gone through three(!) name changes.  Come to think of it, War Z was the original No Man's Sky.  All promises and no delivery.

    I don't normally advocate that sort of thing, but watching these dirtbags screw people over the last few years has disgusted me.
    One would think, at the very least, Valve would step in here and tell the developer that they will no longer be able to peddle this scam on their platform.

    Of course, maybe these guys have poured their life savings into an endeavor they just aren't very talented at, and the repeated attempts to reboot the title are simply desperate attempts to stave off utter failure and the complete loss of the aforementioned life savings.  Still doesn't render their actions okay...  But I would certainly hold more understanding for their repeated efforts to get the game off the ground.

    Also goes with the other game of theirs Shattered Skies. All payment models for this have now been dropped EXCEPT the starter payment model. Lots of bad hype running through forums on this too. 
    Which is why i did not purchase it and more recently removed it from my wishlist. Seems this guy is totally shady as hell. Loves EA (Early Access) as when he has made the money or it stops to a trickle they apparently pull the plug, change things around and release the same game under a new guise (or thats what i am reading in the forums).

    Like we didn't see that coming they have did that multiple times now they just do it for the money people buy into there bullshit over and over...... The game was quite bad either way
