Just curious to see how much people spend on average. Or if people here even spend money.
On average, I probably spend around 100 dollars a year on cash shops. So less a year than a yearly sub for a typical pay to play MMO. In BDO, I bought a couple costumes (one for my Witch, other for my Ranger), and GW2 I bought Hearts of Iron off their cash shop (though its more of an expansion than an actual cash shop item).
Most of my money goes to singleplayer/multiplayer games though, which get a bigger spike during black friday and steam christmas sales. I buy quite a lot during christmas sales on steam, averaging out to be almost double the amount on cash shops, even with the cheaper sale prices. With that said, that does vary, because last year I spent very little on steam sales and spent a bit more on cash shops (150 or so total last year in USD)

I do buy cosmetic stuff from League of Legends sometimes, i've probably spent around $100, maybe a bit more, but that's all, i prefer subs or buy to play, Cash Shops are cancer.

I do pay a subscription.

I think bad experiences with EE and some early WOW clone taught me to avoid them like the plague.
I did buy a PLEX to sell in game when I returned to EVE as I was trying to replicate the new player experience and started a fresh account without activating any of my others.

Sadly, few F2P games are good enough to hook me 3 months.

$1500 or more on World of Tanks over the course of five years.
$1000 or so on iRacing buying all of the cars and road tracks that I want to drive.
$200 total on EVE Online buying PLEX when they're at ridiculously low prices.
$100 or so total on Age of Conan buying things like teleport scrolls and vanity armor.
$200 or so on guns and vanity armor in Planetside 2.
$300 or probably more on premium Mechs in Mechwarrior Online.
$70 total on Overwatch buying loot boxes.
On average I'd say I spend somewhere around $200 per year split up between different games.
BD has me not even trying the game because their cash shop looks to heavy handed to me.
GW2 and Warframe are the only exceptions where i spend more than 15 a month but still it is not every month. And i only spend in Warframe when i get 50-75% off as login reward on PC or a good discount on PS4.
I havent spent on GW2 recently since im not actively playing at the moment but i buy extra character/bank/bag slots whenever i need them and the occasional skin like Belinda's Katana skin
