Anyone who has ever played an Elder Scrolls game knows some of its most iconic locations - Elsweyr, Skyrim, Black Marsh, Hammerfell, Summerset Isles. The loveliness of each one in Elder Scrolls Online often makes one imagine what it would be like to go their "in real life". With the just-announced A Trip of a Lifetime sweepstakes, that dream can come true.

I know, right? ZoS is awesome! If you can defend Trion countless times your negative opinions toward ZoS don't hold much weight.
He just made a statement of fact. Calm down. Trion has done the same. I think he was just pointing out that it is what marketing people do to generate renewed interest.

Way to go Zenimax.
edit: or they might have laws/issues with having contests in other countries. Sort of like how Canadians have to take a skill test to enter contests. Not sure all the details there but sometimes they get a math question.

When you say player numbers are down it sounds negative. Ive heard number went up since one tamriel. You didn't even read the article or comment on the article you just stayed some generic BS about marketing.
A man who fears nothing is a man who loves nothing; and if you love nothing, what joy is there in your life?
Also, a free trip to New Zealand... shit, sign me the fuck up.
It's more likely that ZOS just figured out this advertising avenue was available or that it's just cheap.

They want to build respect... then deal with cheaters, Cheat Engine and hacks properly and be transparent about it!

Now it's just 30.000USD holidays.
How far will this go? Playing MMOs and getting no money for it?

So, whenever somebody mentions that the numbers of any game from Trion are down, you usually reply within minutes asking for proof and suggest that without proof, an author is just talking out of his ***, making up stuff and nobody knows the numbers but Trion (and you obviously).
In that sense i guess you have solid proof for your claim about ESO's numbers being down?
If you are mentally disabled in Canada, it is illegal to enter into contests.
I think the purpose of this is so families can't gain unfair chances by signing up their disabled relatives who would be incapable of travelling or enjoying the contest rewards, and would likely not benefit from winning the contest. This of course would be considered unfair to other contest participants.
It's not just for this contest, but for all kinds of contest prize winnings, except perhaps lottery, as that is beneficial to anyone, particularly mentally disabled people.

And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore
I took this as a general comment - not specific to ESO - although I added a "correction" in the context of ESO namely "this is the kind of stuff marketing comes up with to drive revenue".
Revenue in the case of ESO rather than players since there is no mandatory sub - its simply pushing the game and hoping for additional sales, or getting players who haven't logged in for a while to do so and maybe stick around which may in turn result in revenue down stream etc.
And revenue could be up not down compared with a year ago - wouldn't make any difference, it will depend what targets they have. As I said in the Housing thread I am surprised that they are not charging at least a nominal sum. And in that sense the base game housing patch will be an even bigger "marketing" push.
I would speculate that they are after "extended" Skyrim players. Skyrim numbers as high as 27M were reported and it is still selling. Only 7M ESO sales announced .... I think they believe there is more revenue to be had.
Can't defend Trion anymore tried it their company sucks, but ZOS, and Elder Scrolls isn't much better IMO so much stuff that should have been in on release or even a few patches after but wasn't I guess I will have to wait and see if "Housing" is actually useful allowing other players to trade, Freely Customize outfits, costumes, change appearance, craft, etc... Perhaps if ESO allows this when housing comes out they will have made up for a lot of past mistakes but is it too late or will they do this properly is the question...
I want the skyrim feeling with housing, I want to be able to plant a garden in my house go out and harvest etc.
As much as I hate Trion "RIFT" has one of the best customization housing systems in it so far.
Sorry say again? Could you point out this clause for me cause I might have to call out bullshit lol
