How the old dark and light game has been an inspiration for this sequel to the game?
Dark and Light is a complete reboot of the IP rather than a sequel. However, we’ve taken a great deal of inspiration from Dark and Light’s original themes, including a major focus on freedom and exploration. We’ve taken those themes and created a huge fantasy sandbox world filled with interesting creatures for players to explore, along with an expansive leveling, crafting, and spellcasting system.
From various QA we know that there will be a PvP and PvE servers, can you explain the difference? especially if DnL will have the full loot?PvP servers will have very few restrictions on PvP combat; outside of the main cities, players will be able to attack each other, as well as each other as long as they don’t belong to the same House (Guild) or House Alliance. On PvE servers, players can still interact with one another and form Houses and House Alliances to share various privileges, but directly attacking other players is impossible. However, if a nearby player dies to a hostile creature or takes a long trip off a short cliff, other players can still loot their body.
Could you tell us your prevision for the capacity server: more than 500, 1000 or 2000 players?
At the moment it’s hard to put a hard number on server capacity because we haven’t had an opportunity to do any stress testing. One of our main priorities at the start of Dark and Light’s Early Access launch will be to determine our ideal server capacity and scale as necessary, to meet our needs. We aren’t looking to fill servers will as many players as possible though, we want players to all have a smooth gameplay experience, as well as ensure that players will be able to claim a space for themselves, even on older, more established servers.
Talking about the Map, could you tell us some numbers for its extension?
We can’t reveal any hard numbers right now, but Dark and Light’s world spans over a massive area and number of landforms, including several large islands and a series of floating islands. Even on the fastest flying mount with infinite stamina, it would take a pretty decent chunk of time for a player to quickly fly over and barely see every area currently in the game.
The player will have the freedom to shape the world, both at the construction level that "narrative" / economic or there will be some restrictions (such safe zones, preset cities, from which npc sell / buy), etc.?
Players won’t necessarily be shaping the overall narrative of the world, but they’ll be able to shape other players’ experiences by constructing massive bases outside of cities, creating makeshift supply / trade routes, or acting as roving bands of bandits, making their living off of attacking other players. NPC traders do exist, but they only trade in currency and don’t carry the most desirable or powerful materials / equipment, so they won’t affect the economy as much as actual players will.
Let's talk about crafting, as it will be an important element in the life of every player can you explain the crafting system of DnL?
Crafting is integral to a number of Dark and Light’s core systems - everything from building materials to weapons, armor, and even spell catalysts are obtained through DnL’s crafting system. Players can craft basic materials anywhere, but more advanced items will require the use of a forge and a number of different workbenches depending on what they’re making.
DnL as a QA of several months ago will have a gameplay in first person, it was later told that the third person is possible. You can say definitively what kind of visual we have: first, third, or both?
We’ve gone through a few iterations, but in our most recent build, Dark and Light is set to third-person by default. There are a lot of flashy spell effects and elaborate animations in the game, so we decided that third-person was the best option for a smooth, readable gameplay experience. We do, however, have an option to allow players to ride mounts in first-person, and we’re considering the option of including a first-person mode for normal movement depending on feedback during Early Access.
Speaking of leveling of our virtual character, how it works?
Players earn general experience by doing just about everything - exploring, gathering materials, and crafting items will provide varying amounts of experience. After leveling up, you’ll earn an attribute point to spend on one of 9 different stats, including max health, stamina, mana, base damage, carrying capacity, and more. Skills / crafting recipes are completely separate from character level, and are unlocked by completing actions related to a particular ‘Knowledge Node’, or skill tree. For example, gathering raw materials and crafting items to help survive in the wild like campfires, sleeping bags, etc. will level up the Survival Node. We initially worked with a skill point system tied to leveling up, but this new system lets players experiment with every skill tree in the game without worrying about wasting points or being restricted by their character level.
From various QA, DnL is presented as a sandbox MMORPG with strong survival elements. The multiplayer component for guilds, alliances, dungeon will be there? How the survival elements will influence our character ?
At the moment, we’re trying to correct the notion that Dark and Light is anything like a traditional MMORPG, a misconception caused by some mistranslations early on in our promotions for the game. There are a number of MMORPG-like elements, including guilds, or Houses as mentioned earlier on, as well as House Alliances and faction systems. Currently, there are no instanced dungeons since we want to push the idea that Dark and Light’s world is completely persistent - any major event that happens in the world, say for example, a large player alliance slaying a dragon, should happen *in* the world. Dark and Light’s survival elements really come through in the full loot, crafting, construction, and creature taming / upkeep systems.
A very important question. DnL which business model will have? From a QA there was talk of Buy to Play, but will also have a shop in game? Also expect a monthly subscription-style VIP member?
Dark and Light will be published as a buy-to-play title through Steam’s Early Access program - it’s a little too early for us to be discussing additional monetization plans.

As to it being a MMO or survival, it most certainly sounds far more like a MMO than any survival game. I think them not claiming it to be a MMO is more marketing hype than anything else.
Just have to wait and see what they come up with.
The original post for this game says it will release in the fall. It's Winter. We still have spring and summer before fall. Where is everyone getting this release in December thing?
The video says "Release this year" which means 12 months imo, not calendar year. Don't get me wrong, if its ready Im ready, but I think people are reading into things.
January -December 2017 "Next Year"
If they meant sometime in the next 12 months, they would have stated Fall/Winter Next Year. So nobody is reading anything into it. The Devs have stated 'This Year' which is the year of 2016.
And since it remains a no listing on Steam for the upcoming EA games. Doubtful it will be this year all the same, but the Devs could update their claims on the whole 'This year' claims.

So even on the pve servers it is a full loot game. You can watch someone die and not assist them, then be rewarded with there loot. This should bring out the best in people..
That said, loot may be trivial and not really worth much. Regardless im going to give it a try i guess.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Im trying to keep my expectations about this game in check but there's really not much out there that im watching except for this. Ive been on their website but cant find min system specs, have they released that at least?
Lets see if hes right!
