Yes it does. When you chose to approach the game as an open world and not a linear themepark. I know a couple of people from Alpha that just headed out on their own and never followed the storyline.
Ok, so just stop doing the quests they feed me? That's counter-intuitive, but I'll try it.
The first thing I do in these games is drop the quests.
As soon as I'm asked to run "over there" and kill/collect 2 or 3 of something and then run somewhere else, rinse/repeat, the quests are gone.
And that's like, all you do with the main story. Buy some girl clothes, follow annoying Akuta around, talk to fish guy, follow Akuta, kill a few things, follow akuta... kind of sucks.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

There are plenty of f2p games that sold founder's pack and released beta keys for closed beta so let's compare it to any of those games. From the words of it this one is one of the worst localization beta and that comes from someone that was in Dragon's Prophet and Scarlet's Blade cbt.
The quality of this localization sounds more like a friends and family alpha.

They cut the translation budget in half just after having hired said translators or so I've heard. Don't know how much of that is true.
Unfortunately, besides the horrible and unfinished translations, I find the actual game very bland as well. The combat, the enemies etc. yawn. It looks ok and flying is fun but that really does not make a good game. I might try it again later on but I have already uninstalled.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

I played some more today after BlizzCon stuff. Why do I spend all of the damn time following dorky Akuta, instead of going on my own adventures? Level 21, and I still don't know what's going on in the story. And I still feel like all I'm doing is being led around by Akuta and not exploring a damn thing.
Does it get more "free"?
Once you have been to the Adventurers league and done a run through of the Test of the 4 or 5 Kings, you will notice "!" pop up on your map, at that point yes you can leave Akuta and start doing your own thing.. Go see him when you want to continue the story after that..

However there is nothing new or innovative here, they simply took all the parts from games made in the last 12 years and mashed them into one theme park MMO. Skill and spell effects are fun, flying is cool, but as far as new and creative gameplay , as of now, there is little to be found.

It's just another shitty eastern mmorpg that has "innovative" features that every other eastern mmorpg has.
It has action combat so people think it's amazing even if said combat is rather clunky
It has tons of meaningless quest that makes WoWs opening quests seem like an epic
It has piss poor visuals that look like a stylized game...from 5 years ago.

I wanted to try this game because I could not really understand the hype for it. To me it looked a bit poor and too much Asian from the videos I watched in youtube. Anyway, I watched some streaming videos yesterday and today, from the cbt1, and the moment I heard the stolen voice/sound of a female dark elf character dying from Lineage 2, to some kind of its npcs, I could not watch any further.. When we say stolen we really mean stolen. If i was still playing l2 I would thought I had forgot a l2 window opened and my character just died.. Exact the same sound? cmon but really, I hate copycats.

I wasn't paying attention to my level, something I never did care much about, and which seemed here to go up every time I moved from one place to the next way point. I enjoyed the experience, but it didn't seem like a game to me. Maybe one long tutorial. I kept thinking the game playing aspects were putting a bit of a damper on my enjoyment of watching this interactive movie. When do we get wings to keep? Or was I not hitting the right key combination? Why do people care about (want) mounts, pets, and silly head decorations and glasses that don't do anything but look out of place? When do we get to the open world part? Seems terribly linear to me up to that point. At what point is the tutorial stage over? When you get on the ship? It seemed like all the other players, no matter what the sex or class, were doing the same things I was doing. If I start over, will I have to go through all that again? How much of this is due to being in Beta, and how much is locked in?
Not sure how you can compare this to Aion, or Tera, both of which are 1000% better than Revelation, as for Blade and Soul if blade and soul was made 10 years ago it would be right on the money.

Unfortunately, besides the horrible and unfinished translations, I find the actual game very bland as well. The combat, the enemies etc. yawn. It looks ok and flying is fun but that really does not make a good game. I might try it again later on but I have already uninstalled.

To be fair here, since Allods launched their subscriber only server, the game is alright. There is no cash shop at all on the Sub server.
