Sup peeps. I've just recently cancelled my WoW account and now while I'm waiting forWAR to come out I thought about getting back to one of my fav MMORPG's aka DAoC. I also want to have a chance to enter the WAR beta testing :d

So anyways, I havent played the game in like 2 years now and I'll be joining Midgard and I cant choose wich class I should go for. I mainly wanna do RvR and the 3 classes that interest me are Thane, Shadowblade and Hunter. I'd like to know if any of these are viable for RvR and maybe someone could give me a couple good sites for good builds and things like that. Thanks in advance.

Unless you plan to play on one of the classic servers, you should probably not play a stealther, because you would need a buffbot account. Also they are more or less solo-classes and you will most likely not be able to find RvR groups (if it is sieging and stuff, that you want)
Thane is certainly a fun class, although some might argue that it has its weaknesses (no stoicism = any crowd control will last 25% longer than on "real" tanks). But it is quite usefull in PvE ind in Zerg-RvR, not so  much in 8vs8-RvR (unless you play on a ToA Server and go for Battlemaster = Bodyguarder).

Regarding spec-advice...Not quite sure, depends on your playstyle. If you want to be guarder, than 50 shield would be the way to go - otherwise 42 Shield, 44 hammer, 46 Stormcalling, or something like that.

Well yeah I was thinknig of joining a classic server.

And as for my playstyle, I was thinking that as a Thane I'd just jump in to the midst of battle and try to look impressive or something. Seeing how the Thane interests me the most I'm probably gonna roll one. Thanks for your help!

Actually playing an assassin class is not advisable.  As much as people complain about buffbots being a problem, the bigest problem is with MoS.

The best thing you can do is play an archer class.  You do not need a buffbot for those anyways.

Thanes are really fun to play, I love mine on the regular server, if only for the slightly unethical usage of my PBAoE dmg that gets me some extra RPs in a full on zerg.  But this technique isn't exactly nice to CCers, in fact I remove it from my hotbar when we have any decent CC in our group, but the insta-DD does strike fear into the hearts of many, and my mighty flying hammers of Smack-Down rock too.
