even thought the movies never say any thing dont you think that darth vader at some point he would have taken on his own apprentise and help the sith lord make his army of dark jedi sith?
i mean just a thought logiclly? that what i would do.
what more powerful than a army of completely loyal stormtroopers?
A army of completely loyal stormtroops and dark jedi sith.

There may only be two Sith at a time. And it seems the masters trained at least Mara Jade in some of the arts.
One guy was old and senile, and the other had to wear a special helmet and suit just so he could breathe. I am pretty sure even some whiny farmboy from some backwater planet like Tatooine could have whiped the floor with both of them, that is if they ever left the safety of their ships.
So its quite obvious why they didn't want to train anyone, they didn't want to get their butts whooped. I mean who wants competition when you got a freaking monopoly!

well, they actually had some very good reasons to want only 2 sith at a time only.
Siths tends to kick each other ass on a regular basis. As all evil, sometimes it is easier to fight the less armed and developed companion evil guy over there that to go toe to toe with Good superpower that has tons of Jedis, ships and planets to support them.
Having only 2 limits such backstabbing to the bare minimum, that is ... nil. or almost as we all see in the movies.
Second reason was detection. the original Sith Lords got cocky. there were loads of them, eventually they got discovered when they weren't fully ready. Sith Wars erupt. final result? the rpublic still stand and the sith lords got bombed to stone age. them and the Sith alien race get wiped out.
So, the only survivor decided that, maybe, it was better to start acting from the shadows and to do so you do not train hundreds of ambitious power hungry sith lords, you just get two and then a billions of loyal minions with little or no training at all in the way of the Force.
This philosophy was still going strong at the time of the movies and that is why there were only 2 Sith (Lords)
