World of Warcraft News - The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with information about how players will be able to upgrade current iLevel 910 legendary items to iLevel 940 once The Nighthold raid goes live next week. Those with legendaries will be able to pick up a repeatable quest in Dalaran that sends them out to "collect a number of Essences of Aman'thul", though the precise number was not revealed. Once done, a Distilled Titan Essence will be awarded that will raise the legendary iLevel.

Probably to avoid more outrage about another insane grind being added.
No problem with grinding for something, i did that in many games.
Problem with Activision is that they don't get you to grind for something, but to grind for nothing.
Next patch full of revamps, next 180 degree class change, next round of hard nerfing, next feature removal is always just around the corner with them.
The AP grind was their "solution" to people quitting WoD after 3-4 month and should prevent the same thing from happenig in legion. Yet they forgot to make the grind worthwhile, because no mechanic, system or class in the game has any persistence anymore.
They are so obsessed with constantly changing everything that nothing is worth grinding for anymore.
I'm 42 years old. I like playing MMOs and don't mind a bit of a grind but I don't have the time or energy to grind grind grind like I did 10-15 years ago. If MMO's want to cater to the no lifers, basement dwellers, teenagers and poop sockers then they should straight up say so and not make "casuals" think they have a place in the game.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
There's nothing wrong with being a casual player. Being a casual player and expecting the same kind and level of advancement as a player who sinks vast amounts of time into the game... That smacks of wanting to have the cake and eat it, too.
As Ghavrigg mentioned, WoW is one of the better MMORPGs in terms of casual activities. Blizzard still reserves some activities and items for the hardcore grinders? Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, and I've been a casual MMORPGer for years now. :chuffed:
What's wrong with this approach?
Yet they didn't prevent anything, the ones that left WoD after 3-4 months, likely left Legion even sooner. And the initial number was not that big as WoD's to begin with anyway.
This game is just getting further down the toilet with each next expansion.
Oh and, till when are we going to blame Activision for everything? This game has been Blizzard's baby for over 12 years, nobody from Activision is developing content instead of them. This is all on Blizzard.
Nothing
