Ubisoft has taken the wraps off its next iteration on the venerated Might & Magic series with Might & Magic Showdown, a strategy PvP title that contains aspects of tactical RPGs and MOBA-esque features. Might & Magic Showdown is already available in its Early Access form via Steam for $19.99. Ubisoft is hopeful that the EA community will provide feedback and to make suggestions that drives the "right priorities for the game", according to Producer Phillipe Ducharme.

Really.... the MOBA market is becoming over saturated...

Im just glad the time of Dota clones seems to be over and people are trying to make something different.

    The painting editor looked interesting.

I think so too. Also, being able to issue tactical orders to your party members -- this is a 1v1 game after all, just with minions accompanying your hero -- is cool too.

Looks like they took the combat aspect of HoMM and made it pvp. The customization looks epic. Unfortunately, as a fan of HoMM this doesn't interest me at all. How about make a HoMM thats worth a damn. Still playing 3.

Seems like every studio needs a MOBA and card game to feel their line-up is complete. At least this one has a few unique twists.

A new and successful HoMM would be lovely -- if only!

They already made a M&M card game years ago that was pretty good but stopped supporting/updating it then shut it down.

I don't doubt that they'll do the same for this if it doesn't sell well but I'll prob try it since I'm a sucker for mobas.

    I am still playing HoM&M 2 :).

I think that they went the wrong way with the series. It seems to me they focused pretty much only on "improving" graphics instead of developing the aspects of the games that made the series great.

Am I the only one who thinks that HoM&M looked better before they were changed completely to 3D with the 5th game?

Yeah agreed, i did enjoy the new ones, but thdy can't compare. And i like the idea of this, but the battles themselves seem a bit lacking and slow.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.
