Nintendo vs Sega Genesis - WoW vs Warhammer

in World of Warcraft

Yep, I know I am opening myself to a flame and plus I am showing my age

But my thought of these 2 games will be like.

World of Warcraft = Nintendo

Warhammer Online = Sega Genesis

You can use the playstation vs xbox as well, but nintendo was pretty much built around the younger crowd, where as the Sega attracted more of the older crowd in the GLORY DAYS.

    yah, thats a really good comparison. But I would have gone with Xbox and Gamecube as to how they compare a bit better and more people around these times can relate to them.(although I DO remember my sega and Nes.

    EDIT: Compared Playstation and Xbox is not a great comparison. Gamecube works alot better(considering it was made by nintendo anyways, just saying.

    Playstation portable and Dual Screen works too!

    Agree, considering Blizzard got inspiration from Warhammer, but took out all of the blood, gore, mounted heads, skulls as trophies, and added in fairytale fun time and a happymeal toy.

    Also "Mcdonalds = WoW     Steakhouse = Warhammer"

    it definitely fits with the "billions served"

    Well if NES= WoW and Sega Gensis= Warhammer then where is the NEO-GEO?

    if McDonalds= WoW and Steakhouse= Warhamemr then where is the Brassarie?

    More I read about Warhammer and the instancing and such the less it resembles Warhammer to me. It may be a good game when it comes out, but it isn't shaping up to be Warhammer.

    A good comparison but i dont c why they are against each other warhammer aint even out for ages

    true WoW does have cartoony graphics but u ask any gamer, any real gamer and they will tell u graphics dont count! even though wow has alot of carebeary things about it, its still very possible to make it non carebeary

    There's no comparison, since Warhammer hasn't been released. No one knows how the game's going to play. Anyone that's been in the mmo market will also tell you that you should take dev notes with a grain of salt.

    I'm not sure how you can make comments about Warhammer's graphics being any better. They're quite similar to WoWs.

    You mean, wow characters are similiar to warhammer figures. Hence where blizz got the character concepts from.

    <sigh> Folks are going to stress themselves out trying to correct this bit of backwards history. Blizzard 'borrowed' heavily, if not down right ripped off the Warhammer look. Next thing you know, folks will say D&D classes are simliar to WoW's.....
