This is now putting it into the same category as Conan Exiles.
If I am going for a game with 100 player limit, ill do a AAA studio like Funcom with the art assets they have. (assuming the game is good as well of course)
Explorer 73% Achiever 53% Socializer 53% Killer 20%
From what ive seen and red its Ark with a new skin aka DnL.
That would be unfortunate, with Ark already around and Conan Exiles coming there will literally be not much to differentiate all these games in terms of gameplay.
It flashes me back to the <insert zombie survival game here> times, where the genre got drained.

They are going for that with Moonlight as well. At least DnL has a different take on the genre.

Cracks me up when anyone tries to justify full loot pvp and I lived in UO Felucca for 6 years. It is very hard to do and this game is going to make no effort at all the problems with such.
Notice how he said very early alpha, that means at best we are probably looking at late 2017 for release.
As people noted above, just seems to be another Ark Survival game with a different flavor.
I will probably give it a try, but with a 60 person server limit I see no long term gameplay.
I did indeed say it was going to be 1,000 people per server... info that changed a while back. It's now more like ARK or other games of that ilk, though Snail says they want to aim for more players.

Glad to have seen this movie. Thought this game would rock, but now I'm not so sure anymore. Also, no PvP without full loot? Epic fail I'd say because that's not what most PvP players are looking for. Good thing that you can host games, but (as said before in the thread already) 60-100 players in a HUGE world? Nothing MMO and a hard time to find your friends, yet an other epic fail IMO.
I got to say even though I normally hate survival games the fact that this one is all about spells and has towns with NPCs, quests, etc., is beginning to make me pay attention to it.

Perhaps for EA it will be 60-100 but over time increase server player capacity as the game and the development matures. I hope so anyway!
Sigh. Back to WoW then I guess... for another 1 million years...
Sorry, but its just that WoW seems to be the only MMORPG still, that actually will have M amount of players in an open world, covering basicly all kinds of players interest.

It's just the same old song: publishers just keep copying what looks popular and deliver a "clone" 3+ years later because it looks safer than making something entirely new.
We had it with WoW, then MOBA became an hot thing and now it's survival games (a category where I would dump all the PvP sandbox games in the making, which is like 99% of all MMOs being made right now...)

I kinda like it too. Glad you said it first, now I can come out of the closet. O.o

Doesn't the small server cap bother you? For me it's kinda game breaking.
I was actually quite interested in it, but 60 or even 100 players it's not good enough. If it was 1000 I could think about it but right now DnL is off my list.
So this is the big "sandbox" reboot they have been working on for 8 years now? Looks extremely rough based on the videos. At least now we know why they didn't want us to see what's going on.

Only if I think of it as an MMO. If I think of it as just my own personal exploration of a world and character development system, I can a get a few months' enjoyment out of that - more than I would typically get out of similarly priced SP games. /shrug

For a remake, that should be better than that.
No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

No, we've known for a while that it was going to be a small-server survival game.
