Be extremely wary of buying the Gold Edition!

I bought it in late December and I still have not received my DLC. This is not an issue anyone other than the support staff can fix... or could, in theory, if they weren't all hell-bent on copy-pasting entirely useless messages. To clarify: the game is properly registered as "Gold Edition" in the system, but the DLC quests are completely unavailable and the bundled horse is nowhere to be found (that is to say, it cannot be found where people say I should be able to find it).

With that in mind, and the fact that it's almost been a month since I bought the game and submitted my first support ticket (and subsequent Twitter posts, forum posts and emails) without so much as the hint at a human response I feel pretty confident in calling the Gold Edition a scam. Along with many others on the official forums, I might add.

I'm sure many others have successfully redeemed their Gold Edition keys, but do you really want to play in a lottery where the grand prize is the thing you actually purchased? What a shitshow.

I'm sure it's on their end... Not that they can't make a mistake..But I mean come on.  If you talk to them, they should be able to find out real quick about what version you purchased.  As with a lot of things, I suspect user error.  Convenient during the players choice awards.

So just out of curiosity, who did you buy it from?

Wow. After they introduced the predatory RNG lock boxes I am no longer an ESO fan. However back when I was I can't deny that the customer service was pretty damn good. I'd say give them another shot and if that doesn't bear fruit take Kyleran's suggestion and get your money back.
That's a bit of a nuclear option though.  Most (all?) MMO's will outright ban your account if you do this.  If the situation has permanently soured you on the game then by all means go ahead.

I have no specific ESO experience but in the games I've played account issues required a phone call instead of a trouble ticket.

If it's listed in the account management as "Gold Edition" I find it quite hard indeed to believe it's an error on my behalf (given that I followed other people's guides on how to redeem the DLC). But again, I'm open to being proven wrong.

    Amazon.

Unfortunately, since I bought it off Amazon, this wasn't an option to begin with. But as Cogohi pointed out, I would probably have gotten banned for doing so anyway.

did you buy it via steam? if so contact them, if not then i do not know why you are having issues (you may need to claim it under your account) i just bought 3 accounts for my friends (all gold) and they all got their stuff no issue.

Edit: Just noticed you mentioned amazon, yea this was a mistake. buy from steam or them directly this way you will not have this issue. Since its amazon the code could be faulty thus they will not be able to help you. Though in all honesty contact support with eso and amazon explain what happened and they may be able to help.

One other guy I was talking to, who also had this issue, said he bought it straight from ZeniMax (I presume). Either way, I'm liking the game so far. I just wish I could like what I actually paid for.

Just an FYI. The first reply from ZOS you get when you put-in a ticket that is just a vanilla auto-reply must be responded to or the ticket just goes into CS limbo. Did you do that?

Only after a couple of days of waiting, due to frustration.

You may have exceeded the response deadline.

If you've stopped getting responses you may wish to start the process again from the start.

Yeah their system is weird simply because they channel every type of ticket through the same funnel.

Whether you're reporting a bot in game, a broken quest, a hardware issue that makes you crash or an account issue, they all seem to go through the same canned email response step... to weed out issues that just resolve themselves or you find a fix for or just lack of interest is my guess.

And most of us just habitually don't respond to those canned responses.

They really should have a different process for the more serious things, especially account issues.
