I think this announcement just killed a few ppl I know. Lol
Grouping in Old school mmo's: meeting someone at the bar and chatting, getting to know them before jumping into bed.  Current mmo's grouping: tinder.  swipe, hookup, hope you don't get herpes, never see them again.

It's VERY vague. I seriously doubt they will bring anything I will play and enjoy. I miss the superhero mmorpg. My guess? They will just dump more games like those that exist now with little change or improvement. DCUO never quite held me, Champions was always a joke, etc. Time will tell, but I have little faith. I hope the indie companies can get their stuff done well and out in time. This COULD be a death blow to them. Again, time will tell.

Maybe an Inhumans RPG? It seems like they want to push the Inhumans forward as a replacement to the X-Men, and a solid showing on the game front would be a good start.

Ughhh nooo superhero stuff is so boring and dumb. Watching a movie, fine. But in games I just don't get the appeal.

I am looking forward to this because if they make something like a RPG Final Fantasy version of the super heroes thing it would be something I might like since I like SE RPGs. I hope it is not action orientated but I suppose it will be okay scratch that not excited any more.

Well, to be fair, SE has been lauding around these "If Square Enix did..." images over the last year or so. So it appears that maybe it paid off, lol. Star Wars next? I don't care if it's a super hero mmo, and I don't know if it should be. I really do hope it's something awesome though. Please don't ruin my childhood :)

Likely to produce games I won't be interested in, but millions will enjoy.

I'd love to see a Marvel MMO. A real one where you get to create your own character. That's pretty much the opposite of Marvel Heroes. DCUO was boring but at least you could "sort of" create something your own. Champions would let you create some really interesting concepts but the gameplay was so bad that they drove their core audience away. I've gotta hope for City of Titans, Valiance Online, or Ship of Heroes for a game that *might* have good gameplay along with a build-your-own character.

    Makes me think MMO.

A MMO would make sense, but I imagine it's just wishful thinking from me.

Imagine Square Enix going to the meeting. They've already had a financially successful partnering with your parent company. (Kingdom Hearts franchise with Disney) They then show the stats and figures for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn (Which I imagine is one of the most financially successful MMOs since World of Warcraft (I have zero information to back this up, just a guess) in a genre that is extremely hard to break into) and then saying 'Now imagine what we could do with the Marvel IP'

How cool would an X-Men vs. Inhumans faction pvp MMO with character creation be?

This sounds MOBA'ish to me. MOBA with cutscenes that tell a story. Or maybe an rPG/TCG.

A superhero MOBA would be welcome. DC's attempt at one was short lived, but Disney/Marvel generally puts more care into their license.

    oh god no.

First of all ,i have NEVER seen a Super hero game that is remotely better than a 1/10,they are all crap games with a super hero in them.

However in saying that,i am 100% positive Square will make the best one yet but still not be good enough that i want to play it.Square does put some serious production value in their games...geesh Chris Roberts should have got a job at Square, they love making cutscene movies and stuff.

This genre 100% MUST have destructive surfaces if i am going to take it serious. If they get that first part down, then i might check back on these games in the future.I mean seriously, how can i look at The Hulk smash the bejeebers out of the ground and nothing moves? How can Superman "man of Steel"not fly right through buildings or lift up large objects?

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Anything but a MOBA. We have enough games catering to the ADD generation.

Which is sad... The Inhumans minus agents of shield (lmfao show) have always been cool. But it's sad that since Disney doesn't own the xmen movie rights that they are just snubbing them.

As long as you can create your own hero and not just have to do the whole retread as one of the old marvel heroes, then it has possibilities, the trouble is, that with the marvel brand on it i rather suspect it will be the more boring option of the two, but i can hope that is not the case.
CoH/CoV is the only superhero MMO that has ever been all that much fun to play, all the others really paled in comparison. :o
